is anyone having problems loading into the game or getting past the character select screen?

my game keeps erroring out and crashing after the select screen.

Try doing a force verify: on the first window with the Engage button go to the top-right of the window, Options, force verify.

Make sure your video card drivers are up to date.

If neither of those works, try uninstalling then reinstalling.

as what Dave said, but before uninstalling try these:

1. Start the game in 'safe mode' in the launcher options.

If that doesn't work try

2. go into your 'live/localdata' folder and find your game.pref file and delete it, and run the game again in 'safe mode'. The pref file may have been corrupted and it has your settings in it.

If both of these fail, then a reinstall is recommended, but delete all left-over folders from your Startrekonline folder.
