Tour The Galaxy Question

misanthrope#6636 misanthrope Member Posts: 84 Arc User
I heard from one guy a while back that it's better to do tour the galaxy in a small craft instead of a regular ship because the small craft turns better, anybody know if this is true? I know small crafts have better turn in battle and inside a solar system but I have no idea if their higher turn counts in sector space.

My focus has always been on which ships/gear combos turn best DURING slipstream. Secondarily the focus is on SS recharge and non SS warp speed. The best I have is a Fed Vesta with the 3 piece bonus, Gamma Warp core and a couple other items to boost speed and turn, and abilities such as lead-foot. I get 15+ turn and SS speed (1 minute) around warp 70+ (not looking at it right now). I finish with about 5-7 minutes to spare, depending on if I stop for a comet or abandoned ship. KDF and Roms can get about 2/3+ of that performance with a Miracle worker ship or one of the Lifetime ships, all loaded with the gear and perks to boost SS and turn. There might be another couple that are similar in performance.

I don't believe the ships get the same turn benefits at warp that you see in smaller ones at impulse, in-system. Both types of flight use mostly different modifiers to gain speed and turn rate. If you have a hard time turning enough at warp, drop your speed by at least half, then crank it back up just past halfway through the turn.
