    From Twitter,

Star Trek Online on PC is currently experiencing an issue and is offline. We're investigating and should have more information soon.

When asked for comment, Starfleet engineers stated, "Everything is fine. We are in...Control."

DId some Federation officer get so hungry that he tried to eat a gelpack that was part of the circuitry that ran the server?

As on FB, the PC servers are down....no ETA before anyone asks.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

Was there any indication to what happened?

In the voice of Lt. Commander Montgomery Scott: "She's coming apart at the seams, captain, I dunno if she can hold together with this much load on 'er we may have to launch some users off in shuttles!"

None as of now. Just 'there's an issue'.

Not too often really, but just happens unusual moments. I think the time for US timezone was early now and so they delayed to notice

Just as I suspected. 'Control' managed to take control of the servers. We are all DOOMED!!!! :o

No it doesn't. At the most, once in three months, not including scheduled maintenance.

Al least now the Launcher has a notice on it that they are 'aware of the issue' and are working to resolve it.
  • alyrissaalyrissa Member Posts: 26 Arc User

Admiral Quinn probably forgot to sign the authorization to pay the electric bill like he was supposed to.
Either that or one of the engineers on ESD pushed the wrong button and crashed the fusion reactor powering the game.

Is Control the new Borg Officer of the collective that came to assimilate the servers?

It's not an isolated case. (https://steamcharts.com/app/9900#48h) by any means. I did a little tech news scanning and saw lots of potential reasons for all these problems, aside from the possibility that the servers themselves may be having issues. I myself have seen a performance decline since the move/upgrade, or whatever it was, took place. And, while I have taken all the normal approaches in attempting to fix any issues on my side, there is always the possibility that something was overlooked. Same thing holds true for the servers and the technicians responsible for their maintenance, after all they are only humaan too, just like you and I. Anyway, there are a host of issues taking place around the globe that could potentially be impacting cryptics servers, like active DDoS attacks, malware/ransomware, viruses, cryptomining, botnets, windows very own special version of update entropy, and who knows what new exploits have been developed in secret labs hidden inside hollow asteroids in the last few minutes. Effectively and efficiently maintaining servers is no easy task. Gaming servers, that's a whole nother level of insanity and not for the faint of heart, especially in our current cultural environment. They probably haven't been at work long this morning, I am sure they will post something when they have something to report. LLAP
