Currently impossible to earn protomatter microcontainers

stolokstolok Member Posts: 152 Arc User
There is only ONE queue mission that currently rewards protomatter microcontainers for Lukari rep, and it's generally impossible to finish because people will quit at advanced and elite difficulty. Gravity Kills is a very tough TFO. This means we can't earn the tokens we need to get Lukari rep equipment. What happened to the other TFOs? Why is Tzenkethi Front missing from the queues? Why doesn't the Tzenkethi battle zone award microcontainers anymore? This faction is broken.

    Those are good questions.

While you wait for answers, you can also earn 100 regular marks and exchange them.

I literally just finished my Lukari Tier 6 and never once played a Tzenkethi TFO. I go to Gon'Cra, do one of the missions, get my daily ration of Lukari marks and repeat the next day. Get a reputation marks booster and you'll get about 80 marks, and then you'll be able to trade in 100 marks each day to get a protomatter container in your rep system.

This was how I did it. I am not a big fan of the Rep tfo's so event boxes and endeavors was how I got marks. Then trade them in at 100 marks a day for the container.

The only TFOs (or rather PvE Queue - that was it named at the time) that I liked to run regularly were the Borg and the Tholian Red Alerts, now they got turned to events, there is no TFO that I would like to run more than once a month...

Yes, I forgot that I did get protomatter containers from the daily reputation reward too...infrequently, but I did get them.

Just to be clear, we are not talking about the 15- and 30-mark daily and ongoing. We are talking about the 100-mark project in the third project slot that gives a guaranteed elite mark.. The project can be run once a day.

(Not to be confused with the projects that just give you dil as a reward.)

No, I was talking about the 30 mark project - the box you get from that - gives a protomatter container on rare occasions.
the 15 mark one too, it's rare but it can happen. the box normally gives you a random item from the rep store for that rep but rarely you get an "elite mark" (aka the protomatter container or similar) instead.

Very, very rare. I just leveled up my Discovery Character through all Reputations from start to T5, 240 Boxes. One Voth Cybernetic Implant and that's it.

I did go into the Battlezone last week for an Endeavor and lo and behold, for the first time I got the three Protomatter Containers for participating in the killing of the Dreadnoughts. So they are awarding them, if inconsistently.

You can run the Featured TFO and pick Lukari Marks. On success, you get 130 with the Daily Bonus, 75 without. Conversion.

Some should be less dismissive with their replies.

I typically get them when I don't need them but it can happen, so it's not literally impossible to get the "elite" marks. That said it can be rather hard.

Dranuur Gauntlet Advanced isn't too bad. Tzenkethi Front is a bit irritating, while Gravity kills is just plain boring IMO. Haven't done "Beach Assault" and haven't bothered with the Tzenkethi battlezone since the week it was released.

I'd stick to Dranuur Gauntlet Adv. and the 100 mark turn in (per day). You'll easily have your elite marks in no time.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

there seems to be an error displaying tzenkethi front propperly. every time i need to switch the preset difficulty to let it show up in the queue window, dont know.
beside that, its defnitly the best queue for lukari marks + protomatter containers, even tho the battlezone is decent too and could reward quite a few :)

Gravity kills is frustrating because some ships just aren't fast enough to collect the particles. Then you get sucked in and have to start collecting particles over again.

Ships don't even have impulse speed stats, so the ship doesn't affect getting out of the black hole at all. Stock whatever boosts you need. Don't forget to put power to engines.

Personally, I mostly just use full impulse. Let the ever-present pug BFAW brigade derping around with the respawning enemies serve as cannon fodder distracting the enemy from my collection efforts.

Its almost like Cryptic treats old reps like missed holiday events. If you ain't here for it, you're never gonna get it. (Barring extreme luck w/ phoenix boxes.)

I'd suggest a vendor where you can buy your missing Elite Marks for 1-2 Elite marks of another type & remove the silly 20hr cooldown on the rep mission to buy 1 Elite Mark for 100 normal marks.

I could see making OLD Elite Marks easier to get once a new rep comes out. Maybe an Elite Mark choice box like we do the other marks. Choose X marks out of the box OR get 1 Elite Mark of your choice.

Or best of all... just get rid of elite marks. They are nothing but an unneeded complication to the Rep system.
