With all of these technology, you'd think someone in Star Trek would've made one of the Exocomp to be the item loot retriever pet. It would be nice to have that feature. It's quite tiresome to run and get the loot all the time. Add it as a new backpack kit, part of the kit modules, and or devices. Give it a looting range of 45 km to make the snipers happy. Limit to 10-30 secs of looting with a cooldown of 30-60 sec. Perhaps the GM could find a way to add that as a weekend event item or something like that so it's an account wide item.

Make it a Packrat and you have a true Lootcritter.

No, no.. has to be a monkey.
In either case, this would give me reason to actually care about having a pet. RIght now, other then the gingerbread one form Winter Invasion TFO, I have a cat.
I love my inventory more than I love the pets. I'm not going to fill my inventory with them. Speaking of.. I need to trash the gingerbread ones to clean up some more space.

They are also Duty Officers and as Captain I can order them to perform specific tasks. (As I can order my crew to peel potatoes).

No autoloot please, I'd hate to lose another Mk XII Overcharged Plasma Rifle. Left it on the floor in The Cure. Sad times.
huh? if autoloot it would be in your inventory, how'd you lose an item? if your out of space you need to clean up at a vendor/bank or maybe buy more inventory or move stuff to a mule.

Loot in a single run very often exceeds available space. Back then if you used different weapons you could change weapons out faster than you could remodulate, so I'd pack several weapons and swap them out between fights. I missed that I dropped an item due to lack of space, as I was in a hurry to get back into the fight, and by the time I noticed it we had already transitioned maps. The Overcharged Plasma Rifle was from a Romulan mission that the loot was redone for, so I never got one to replace it, but that one I had consistently did 200+ damage per shot, not counting the unholy crit numbers, so I'm not surprised Cryptic remade it. Actually, now that I think about it, that was only a Mk XI.
There is Overcharged Plasma Sniper Rifle that you can get from the 'Empress Sela' Mission. Not as good though.
You might want to check out the Ground Weapons Vendor in the Dyson Battleground Center. They sell Common versions of the former awesome VR Plasma Weapons you could by at New Romulus Command before they were removed with the introduction of the Item Upgrade system. Though you can get the VR Mk XII version of the Plasma Repeater Pistol as a reward from 'Uneasy Allies'.

The purple 12 versions came from the Dil store. You never had the ability to buy them with EC.
Who said the VR ones were availible for EC? VR were always Dilitium. The Common Quality ones available now are EC.

Exocomp, FSM, or Peaches, I don't care what they call it, I want a loot pet. (Personally I want it called "lootcritter"). No more annoying pop ups every time an item drops, no more extra clicking for every item, just zip, zip, items goes to inventory, leaving the player free to concentrate on the fight.
I know they had them available in a different F2P game I used to play and it was a great in game money sink and a great real money maker. You could buy time limited ones for in game currency that lasted one hour, one real time hour, from the moment it was activated, meaning most players were buying one at least once per day. You could also use gpotatoes (their version of Zen) to buy a permanent one. Since they had them available n different looks, hearts, bunnies, turkies etc, some people bought a number of them to switch out for various holidays.
Please, please, give us some kind of true autoloot feature, whther a loot pet or just dropped items going straight to inventory. And those that would complain about thier inventory getting too full...don't buy/use the loot pet, or don't turn autoloot on, problem solved.
