Are these kinda hits normal or is something odd here. Note these are not high yield or spread salvo's or high yield plasma torpedo's hitting me. These are basic single torpedo hits from a group of about 4 ships

For some reason though the engineers are not interested it taking away the screenshots, combat logs and evidence. The bug is that bad that I have one shot killed myself with my own weapons. Its not that rare to see my own 30k mines incorrectly hit me for 100k+ without a critical just like the NPC kinetic damage. The only way for that to be possible is if I was on -150 resistance or worse.
Almost every time I join that one, we end up fighting NPC species armed with transphasics. The torps kill us all through our shields, and they completely take over the spawn point. Anyone trying to respawn gets obliterated less than a second after they respawn.
Granted I don't fly a tank, but it's consistently happening to everyone else I see in the queue as well.
Basically we just sit there dead for the remainder of the fight and watch the NPC glob dominate everything. Then the Lukari tell us we fought them off, and we get our marks.
Heeeeh. I've done that several times on my torpedo boat. I've hit myself with a 250K crit before. I impress myself with my suicidal shots.
Happens consistently with the vanguard dreadnaught, at least for me
But it is fun to do. I like the challenge of trying to stay alive in episodes that are harder than the TFOs I have been playing on normal. And my difficulty is set to normal also. lol.
Razar.
For context I was an Engineer in a Dreadnought cruiser with generic tactical consoles but not buffed up around about 30k base damage per mine. I also experienced the same with the gravimetric torpedo at point-blank range. I say this as even if it was a critical that wasn’t reported as a critical it shouldn’t have scaled up into 100k’s of damage and I don’t see how I was 1 shot killing my own tanked dreadnought cruiser.
you could kill yourself with targetable torpedos mainly when they explode near you.
and the hits from the picture, pretty normal, just dont get hit by 7 torpedos at the same time. and even than, 70k dmg is not that much at all since cruiser could have 150k++ hull right now
and for high crits on advanced/elite, thats known and intended that they get 100% crtd for advanced/elite and 50% crtd for normal

You also have to take into account several other factors when determining how much damage something is going to do to you. What buffs does your foe have, what buffs do you have, what kind of resists do you have, are they able to bypass any of those resists, etc. I don't see anything here out of the ordinary. To borrow from the example above, unless you're near your own targetable torps when they explode, such as heavy plasma torps as a prime example, you shouldn't be killing yourself with them. If you have then we've all done it before at least once. In fact I myself ran a T'varo several years ago that used the heavy plasma torp console and the romulan hyper plasma torp. Wasn't paying attention and threw a full volley of Heavy Hyper Plasma torps and that console at a cube at near point blank range. I'm sure I don't need to tell you what happened next.
If you have evidence to suggest something is bugged then I would invite you to post your evidences in the bug reporting sub-forum where the devs can take a look at it. If there turns out to be a bug it will be fixed. From what I'm seeing here though I don't see a bug, but just a touch of bad luck in catching that torp spread at a bad time. If survival continues to be an issue, survival is my specialty in game and I can assist you in make some alterations via pm if you wish.

Hi Darkbladejk,
I have to say that this response seems a bit perplexing. This does not actually look like a torpedo spread at all, as that power is usually indicated in the damage log.
I don't stack a ton of torpedo enhancements, but for most plasma torpedoes I'd be fairly hard pressed to get an 11000 damage for one, let alone 24-35K. I also can't hit 8000 damage per hit on a beam weapon, but many enemies sure can. I got hit for over 390000 (171k after armour) by a tarantula web cannon last night 3 times and twice because I couldn't even see that it was prepping. Somehow in one of those I also got hit by MY OWN WARP CORE BREACH?
These numbers are out of tune. Either the damage potential of enemies is too high individually, or not balanced properly against enemy numbers. Keep in mind that these numbers are also reflected in enemy defence and health, which is something like a whole order of magnitude above players.
I am wondering if the Devs (in their own cryptic way) are trying to get across to all the rest of players....who are refuseniks to the upgrading/crafting system they installed in the game....you will be dead if you don't conform and improve to Mark 15 Epics. Better line up or pay the consequences....actually, you are going to pay any ways.

You are either not looking very hard, or you are extremely lucky. Perhaps you just normally play with people that draw a lot more aggro than you do. Perhaps it should be others crying "bollocks" on you.
It's hard to say, and probably equally hard to account for) as there appears to be little internal consistency. One run might be no problem, another you pop like a balloon in a fire. It does seem to happen more on some maps than others. There's definitely some factor that's not right, some unknown variable in flux.
That post from the OP with the battle report is not a one-off, I assure you.
most survivabilty is from the correct use of your defensive abilitys. in addition, using lvl 50-60 gear while playing on lvl 65 does have an impact too, especially because the weapons get a big boost form mk xii => xiv.
and for the torpedos from the picture, looks like 6 spheres + 1 cube firing one torpedo each. but getting a lot of torpedos at the same time from several enemies could just end like this if you do not use any counter against that.
its way more fun to get killed like that from a terran heavy escort carrier with the torpedo barrage ^^
and for the damage per hit, as a player you could do waaay bigger hits with a beam (excluding beam overload here, because you know, thats for the really big hits). 8k is close to nothing what is possible there.
the highest torpedo hits we saw in the past during some torpedo fun was something around 950000 dmg with 1 heavy enhanced biomolecular torpedo, quite equal numbers with a temporal device there.

Odd ball torpedo hits like this doesn't faze me so much. Maybe when it gets to be constants...then I will consider it.
I don't know why azreal doesn't when I am even seeing it. On normal. In missions.

Sorry about that typo. I did not catch it before.
What computer brand do you have? And can I still buy one for myself???
I am definitely not getting Toshiba for another computer because that guy who has the thread where his computer crashes on 32-bit and 64-bit STO program....he has one of those.

Are there any know issues with any resistance traits that actually have the reserve effect where it debuffs you instead of buffing you ?
