Ferengi whip these days?

I'm considering getting the Ferengi whip for a planned Ferengi tac character. Does this weapon have decent range? For example, I like to use one shorter range and one longer range weapon. If I used the Sompek blast assault as primary, could I use the whip for longer range targets? Or would the whip be better as a short range weapon, paired with a TR-116 (or whatever sniper/long range weapon)?

    The wiki does not mention the weapon range, but it is probably safe to assume it is not a long range weapon.
    The most likely range is either pistol or shotgun range which puts it between 15-25m.

    Perhaps someone who owns this weapon can confirm this.
    Edit: i checked in the lobi store. The whip has a range of 25 meter.
    This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
