Are energy torpedoes affected by the projectile weapon training skill?

Got a Shikaris kitted out with diffusive tetryon weapons including the tetryon energy torpedo, I'm wondering, is it affected in any way by the projectile weapon skill? I can see it being affected by that or the energy weapon training skill and I'm not sure which it is.

It is a torpedo so it is affected by the skill for torp weapons.

HOWEVER, technically being an energy weapon rather than kinetic damage based it is only buffed by energy specific consoles, in this case those buffing tetryon energy.

And obviously torpedo firing modes work on it as normal.
