I realize that this might be deemed a "STUPID-QUESTION", but I want to make sure that when I create a character, I am not overlooking anything that will make the character as strong as it can be.
I mean, when I create a new character, and I decide that I want to put that character on a 'TACTICAL' path, I spend so much time focusing on the 'TACTICAL' aspects of the character, that I wind up 'neglecting' the 'SCIENCE', or 'ENGINEERING'/'SUPPORT', parts of the character, and the result is, I let those skills 'atrophy'.
What I'm asking is, how do I PREVENT THIS?
Thanking you in advance for your help.

It is not possible to take every skill, there are 88 total skills. You will have to plan ahead or respec your character later.
You can use the STO Academy Build Planner to plan out your path in advance.
This is one of STO's worst features, you have to do it 'on the fly' without any knowledge of how many total points you get and if you make one mistake you have to use Zen to fix it. The best way is to plan out your skill tree in advance and then just follow it as you progress.
Im not a wealthy player...But I wouldnt know what to do with skill points bought from Zen...Seem a little P2W to me..I much prefer the F2P model.

Those acronyms are not sto specific.. Throw em in google and you'll see what I mean.

That was a backhanded suggestion from Pryor.

Terrible idea, we have plenty of points already. Not sure why you think you have to be 'wealthy' to buy Zen, but whatever.
STFU.
