While most seem to agree that this Disco arc thusfar has been a bit of a fiasco, I cannot but speak about the new ship I got.
Oh yeah, this Prototype Light Exploration ship (the 750 Zen ship) is well worth the Zen!
Even 1500 Zen would be 'cheap'.
Why?
Well, it's TOTALLY scalable up to T4!!!
And i mean... TOTALLY.
Gear as well as ship.
Go figure.
Even with it's base, white equipment it's somewhat a beast (for unmodified, standard gear that is).
I took down 2 D'Deridex attacking me simultaneously and won "easily" (well you need a wee of tactical thinking of course).
Flawless victory.
Pattern Alpha, High Yield, Overload, and having three turrets, 2 beams and 2 torps installed finished the whole nicely off.
Sure, "You only will have the ship for up to and T4", and thus I will not pay for it.
I can fully understand this, many ships out there that do the trick as well, right?
BUT!
If you consider the fact that FINALLY you have a ship that you can use through a few ranks, AS IT ALWAYS SHOULD HAVE BEEN (but economically and financially limiting Cryptic, I am not saying they had to make all ships like this, I am however saying, that would have been the logical thing, Captain Picard did not get a new ship each time he got enough XP to rank up, right? But yes, Cryptic did the right thing, made the right choice for having new ships every new rank-up).
Finally you can feel like you actually serve a ship, that will not be scrapped two hours later, because it became obsolete.
As for the weapons, pretty standard, sadly NOT upgradable (but understandable as these grow along with the rest of the ship), but they do the job nicely.
As for the Starship Shield Capacity/Restoration bonus of the weapons?
Might be me, but I do not see it at all.
That aside.
The pew-pew-pew sounds and fraphics are darned cool, the warp-out is cool, in general, it's a cool ship.
IMHO a must-have, especially since this is a promotion package with 2 SCALABLE BLUE WEAPONS for your captain.
A sniper rifle and a pistol.
Dang...
I am well taken care of here...
One thing is too bad though, it stops at T4.
I would have loved ONE ship I could have throughout the WHOLE game for once.
But I guess... that's dreaming out loud...
Here are my 2 cents about a ship I like...
I hope, this will help some people if they need to make a choice.
Klingons don't get drunk.
They just get less sober.

Though I do have to say this thing is insanely overpowered, being able to slot 7 weapons right after the tutorial!
It probably had more to do with complexity of programming a ship. Additionally, the free tokens and ship changing allows a new player more freedom to experiment with different types of ships and play styles.
Question: It's an account unlock - but can any alt (existing or new) claim it? A few folks were saying that it wouldn't unlock for their old alts. Also, I am wondering whether only new disco alts can claim it or if any new FED alt can use it.
Yeah he did, but he was lazy and only ranked up once in his entire tenure, getting a sovvie as a reward. Didn't he have a constellation before TNG though?
On the other hand, Ryker played a bit harder and managed to T6 the galaxy into a gal-X before (just) the final season ended. And he started right out of school (at least he looks like it in Enc at Farpoint).
I claimed/dismissed it on one of my older characters last night for the Admiralty Card. So it does work.
But as long as a character completes a Fed Tutorial, they should be able to claim the Prototype LEC.
Cryptic, would you actulaly like me to spend actual Money? It's Simple:
As I do like the ship, it may be worth getting for any future new alts to simplify the leveling process.
One thing I did learn during the recent rerun of Delta recruitment - don't dismiss the leveling ships to make room for new ships before the Admiralty system opens or you won't get the card.
They just get less sober.
