Player Character graphic update and skills update

Do you all think it's time for an update to the graphics of our characters? And a balance pass on some of the class specific skills? For example. The science captain's ability Nanoprobe Infestation is absolutely worthless. Enemies die before the activation cycle is even through!! I just think it's time for a Player Class overhaul. Both graphically and skill wise. Some skills are fine. Others are completely out-dated. What do you guys think?

    Err.....Graphics get updated on a regular basis latter 2016 being the last MAJOR update, the only limitation being that of the Engine, and that steps into FCT territory, and I have noticed a few tweaks with ViL too. They are fine.

    Whilst we've only had the new skills system a couple of years, Career specific bonuses and limitations, beyond what they currently are, do need to come into the game, but the skills are fine and are what you make of them. What you think is worthless is a God-send to another player.

    What one player sees as worthless, others see as necessary. It's all in how you play.

    BTW, I use Nanoprobe Infestation, along with Hyperonic Radiation. HR is definitely better, but NI is not worthless.
    Now a LTS and loving it.
    Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
    I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything. :D

    Graphics - If possible, sure.. updates to the graphics quality are always appreciated, but I don't consider it high priority.

    Balance on Abilities - No, hell no.. a thousand times NO! Why? Because Cryptic 'balances' things by just nerfing everything into the ground. 'Balance' is just another word they use for 'taking anything good and making it suck.'

    I wouldn't trust these Devs to balance a scale using two items of the exact same weight.

    Graphics are fine as is. As far as skills/abilities go, I'd rather see an unlocking of captain skills and abilities. Instead of having a tac/sci/eng character, as you level up you can choose whichever captain ability you want. For example, at level 7 you can choose one of the following space abilities. I'll ignore ground abilities for now, but they would work the same as well.

    1. Attack Pattern Alpha
    2. Sensor Scan
    3. Rotate Shield Frequency

    At level 17, you can choose an additional space and ground (ignored here) ability.

    1. Fire on My Mark
    2. Subnucleonic Beam
    3. EPS Power Transfer

    As you continue leveling, you could choose additional abilities. Captain powers are the only differences between the classes so instead of trying to "balance" them, Cryptic could consider just unlocking them for all characters.
    When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

    I for one, would love for them to update character models, as well as updating skills and such. A personal gripe, since all the way back in beta, is that Borg Player Characters are lacking full body skins. Something which is standard on all new races and species. I would absolutely love for them to update and add more skins for characters, as well as more (and better) sliders for body customization. Have you ever seen what they have in champions online?


    As they put out new abilities, older abilities really start to show their age or just become useless all together. Admittedly, Cryptic seems to be doing this occasionally but at the same time, there are way too many abiities that just don't hold up to newer ones.


    I fully agree that it's well passed time to get the character models updated but it would also be nice to get another update for skills and such.

    I think I stopped reading after your first sentence. A balance pass on class specific skills (apart from the fact that one already took place, recently), and a request for updated character graphics, are such different topics, I can't possibly fathom a way to integrate those properly in one and the same thread.

    The skill tree, sure. I could see cleaning that up a bit. I hate to say it. But the old skill tree was better. But, nothing really or overly wrong with what we have now. Just seems setup to spread your points a bit to thin.

    As far as the character models. There is noting wrong with the models. Well, other than the male model definitely needs work. The fact that the majority of the male models look makes me think of a coat hanger, turned upside down and tied to a stick. Yeah, that need to go. Outside of this however, the main thing they need to work on are the outfits. You know cleaning up all the useless and annoying selections, making more pieces available to use in customizing your outfit, and fixes as many of the blasted clipping issues as possible. Plus it probably wouldn't hurt to resync the body sliders with the height slider. Then just open up the height slider to 8 feet. This way everything actually fits within the height slider. Right now, you can set a height, then go in and adjust torso, leg, neck, etc height and make the height slider a moot point. As, you're already taller/short than your set height.

    I would like to see some animation updates ,a lot of the animations are achaually pretty good but some are really bad like twin and single pistols ,the way the charater holds the gun and fires it is completely wrong and with twin pistols seeing someone run with guns arms flailing looks comical,prob adds to a reason twin guns is so unpopular. An update to charater models would b nice too and skill wise some need a rework cos they are outdated.
