Maquis Raider - Six Spire Tac Consoles?

Has anyone tried mounting a 6th Spire console in the Universal Console slot? Will the game allow it?

Curious to try but don;t want to waste resources on the console if I can't then use it :)

    Yes -> you can put ANY console in the special Universal Consoles slot of MW ships - such as the Maquis Raider!!!

    Just to clarify, you can put any console you'd normally be able to slot in Tac, Eng or Sci slots of that ship in the Uni. There's been some confusion with people thinking that you could put ship-locked consoles with the slot ignoring the ship restriction, which isn't the case.
