I try to be a live and let live person. But when people afk in a queue and it causes the rest of the team to struggle to make objectives it really pisses me off. It ends up with less marks and less rewards for the whole team. The problem is the Mirror Invasions encourages it, even if everyone is on the ball and taking part the first part lasts just as long. It doesn't speed up. You just get more marks. If someone afk's though, it's just an exercise in frustration, like sticking your fingers in a dam that is about to burst, but the timer is the same. You want people to participate you have to make it so their actions make a difference, and speed up the event. Level 5 defenses? the pulse goes off and 1st part is done. The timer is bad design. And if you aren't going to punish people for just afking through the queue, they'll do it, because they have 5 alts they want the torpedo and dilithium and marks on, who cares about the other people they are grouped with. You make it faster to participate then people will participate just to get it over with faster. Which is kind of the mood I was in by the 14th time. I was saying to myself gah when is this going to end. Now I'm not sure if my frustration was due to doing it 14 times with afkers, or just doing it 14 times, or some combination there of, but this event sucks. The crystalline entity event, there's a good one, if everyone participates it gets done faster and people participate. That is how you should design events. Participation = faster completion. Not participation = same amount of time. Folks will choose the path of least resistance.
