Logged into ARC today to boot up STO and was informed that I need to install it first. Anyone else encountered this anomaly? I can still run STO via Steam but it's quẽer. Has something changed with ARC?
It seems they keep changing the file path that they expect the game to be in. Check the name of your STO folder. It should be one of the 2 following names.

You may need to change your folder name from one to the other to make it fire up again in Arc. In doing so, it probably won't load up in Steam though.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.
For me, it happened when the latest Win 10 update came in. Fortunately, I had some experience from when I had to delete the Arc and Steam launchers from a Microsoft Surface so it could run STO without lagging; I went into the directory, found the .exe, and started the game from there.
This is starting to sound like it may be a bug related to some of the recent Windows and Nvidia updates. If it is I'll end up moving this thread to the PC bug reporting forum. If that's the case then either myself or perhaps one of my cohorts will move this thread. Reason being is that bug reporting isn't allowed in GenDisc as it prevents the devs from seeing it quickly and getting a potential fix.
Unless there was an update it should still be there. Try checking the folders as the others have suggested first. If that fixes it then I'll consider this a potential one off glitch and pass along the info along with the fix.

Yeah been having the game just outright close on me. Even with using the STO launcher directly and updated drivers. On the plus side haven't been having rubberbanding.

no probelm with me, but there is no reason to have ARC for 2 games when I have them on steam. only reason i had arc was the quests. with them gone it's unistall time
I only use the original launcher and never ever use Steam. I have Arc for other games and Arc points, but I close it down as I prefer to have as little programs running as possible so there's less chance of crashing due to conflicts.

Can check the folders, though I'd hate to be forced to decide whether STO is Steam or ARC compatible :-)
