What is the Arc Client?
Install Arc

"Unable to start game client: The operation identifier is not valid."

Even with today's patch this message has been displayed in the launcher every time I have tried to log onto Tribble since last Friday.

I have forced verified (although I think that only works on LIVE server files.)
I have deleted the entire Tribble directory and reinstalled them.

I have noted this twice before in the https://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/startrekonline#/discussion/1238863/tribble-maintenance-and-release-notes-3-20-18 forum.

Is anyone else having trouble logging into Tribble, getting this error message?

Attempting to open the GameClient.exe filews in both the x64 and x86 nsubdirectories results in the following error message in a pop-up window:

Unable to find required game data files. If this problem persists, reinstalling the application may fix the situation.

maybe this will help the devs find the problem.

I'm evidently not the only one not able to access the server a week after this bug was initially reported and they still haven't been able to identify their problem because the same error message is coming up. If not fixed by about 5 PM EDT today it will be another weekend without access.

It appears to be a problem with the ARC system. Using the executable directly from files allows access to the server, as does accessing it from STEAM. Looks like ARC doesn't want us using them to start the game any longer.

    1) this is a known issue, and this is actually the first time I've seen the problem reported from Steam. Using the ARC launcher also doesn't work. I've found executing directly from the application in the root folder circumvents the issue.

    2) In the future, you might want to post issues like this in the Bug Reports board.

I'm getting this error message today too. This is the first time it's happened.

When I try to launch using the executable directly I get the same message about missing files, even after a force-verify.

***FIXED with the last ARC patch. You can again use ARC when accessing Tribble 4/17/2018. ***
