Lol, although some forum users, myself included at times, might respond as if it was a stupid question, the only true stupid question is the one you didn't ask. It's not a stupid question if it's information that you don't know and want to learn. It's a stupid question if it's information that you don't know....and don't bother to ask so you can learn the answer.
Ignorance can be fixed. Ignorance just means that you don't know, you ask, you get the answer, you are no longer ignorant.
You can't fix stupid, because stupid doesn't ask, or if they do even ask, they refuse to listen to the answer for one reason or another.
Thankfully, lock boxes, including infinity boxes, and phoenix prize packs are in the database as simply that. At the time it is opened, the system checks the database to see what the contents of the box are supposed to be. So a box that's been in your inventory for years is no different than one you just got 10 seconds ago as both will check the current contents listing at the time of opening. I have a large number of infinity boxes in my bank as I always collect a whole lot more than I'll ever open, every now and then when they have a sale on the master key rings, I'll buy some keys and open some, although usually only when I need a few Lobi for something. I also have a number of phoenix packs ranging from rare to very rare that I'm only going to actually open if/when they update the contents to include something I'm interested in. The only UR I ever got, I opened almost immediately as I want a number of things already in there and if I ever get an epic it'll be opened right away for the same reason. Everything currently in the rare/very rares I either already have, or don't want.
The point is, even if I don't open any of them till a year or two from now, it'll still be the most current content list that's used.
BTW, I seem to remember that a few old choice marks boxes I had never opened still yielded competitive marks although they weren't added until quite some time after I originally got the boxes.

Note: The Infinity box doesn't update until a new Infinity round happens, so April 3rd on PC is when you'll be able to get the new stuff.
