High Detail 8k Screenshots/Wallpapers

Hey all

I thought i'd share my 8k screenshots in my DeviantArt gallery. They are all downloadable to use as wallpapers.

    Do you mind if I throw up some of mine into the thread later in the week? Have decently sizes 8K+ screenshots I've taken over the course of the last several years.

    Sorry i've been busy. Yeah go for it captan2er0, i'd love to see them. They don't seem to get a lot of views unfortunately, no idea why, i thought people would love these as wallpapers.

    You really don't need a lot of power, my system is not the highest spec gear. I have a Ryzen 1700, 32gb memory and a 390X, oh and the 4k monitor. You really want the memory, the game at high res loves to eat the memory. The good thing is, frames per second means nothing when you're screenshotting!

    Here are some of mine from the last while. I need to update my online screenshot album once I return from university break. All of them but the first one were taken on my old Fujitsu laptop using RenderScale 5. The first one was taken on the MSI laptop I purchased last year, also at RenderScale 5.

    If theses aren't visible, let me know. My screenshot collection can be found here. I'll update it to current day eventualy. I'm missing all of my stuff from 2016-2018 in it right now. Some of the older stuff is a little whismical due to old bugs.

    My old laptop that I can still run to get 8K screenshots with is pushing 5 years old, runs a third gen i7 dual core processors, 16 gig of RAM, and an integrated Intel graphics chip set. The laptop I use now runs a 7th gen i7 quad core processor, 16 gig of ram, and an nVidia GTX 1050 for graphics.

    Wow i'm surprised you can grab 8k screenshots with 16gb memory. I tried that and my pc would always TRIBBLE out. I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that i'm running at 4k already, i also run everything maxed. I specifically bought 32gb Vengeance DDR4 when i built this new rig so i wouldn't have the same problem. I can tell you that 16k uses a ton of power, i've only managed 1 16k screenshot so far without a crash.

    They're lovely screenshots (although I still don't really care for the Bajoran shield visual effect - for a while, I was debating between turning it off on my Defiant or renaming it USS Ribbed For Her Pleasure), but most people who want STO screenshots for wallpaper would like them of their own ships or personnel. (My wallpaper currently is the shot I got of my Yorktown-class for the drawing for a free 3D-printed ship. The Lorna Wing nestles nicely among the arrangement of tiles I already had on my desktop.)

    Also, I for one had thought that in order to make the images look good, I'd have to have an 8k monitor - and I'm using a 32-inch flatscreen for a monitor myself, because it was less expensive than a real monitor and besides I can read it without my glasses on. (Bifocals are a pain.) So the title of the thread might be turning folks off too...

    Yeah i understand what you mean, i use a 43" 4k tv myself. The wallpapers will only be in 8k when downloaded through the link on DeviantArt otherwise they will be considerably smaller.

    If someone wants some wallpapers of a specific ship in a specific location and i have that ship then i can always do that.
