Are you ready to see Captain Kirk return from the dead in a Tarantino led Star Trek film?
As much as (Prime) Kirk is awesome, I kinda wonder if the ship has sailed on him showing up in Kelvin Trek, even a 'Tarantino Trek'. At this point, I find it hard to see how they could fit Shatner into the NuTrek films without it only ending up as a bland fanservice move. Even giving him a 'phaser tommy gun' shootout scene (it's Tarantino, someone's gonna end up in a crazy epic shootout, right?) doesn't hold as much appeal for me.
Do you utilize the Foundry to discover new stories in the Star Trek universe?
Yay Foundry! I'm glad that Spotlight missions are back, hopefully this brings more player interest and dev resources to this system, which is probably one of the best and most unique things in MMOs to maintain player engagement between content breaks. The reality is that dev-made mission content will never keep up with player demand, it's always consumed much faster than they can be produced. (i.e., Missions can take several months to make, and are played through in HOURS.) Reputations and other time-gated grinds tend to fatigue and even turn away many players, and 'procedural generation' is more a 'synergistic' buzzword than a near-reality for most games. I've played some fantastically crafted Foundry missions over the years, and I believe that giving player authors the ability and tools to create their own Star Trek stories to share with the community is, IMO, the best way to keep players engaged in-game over the long term. More of this, pleeease!!!
The most recent episode of Discovery states that the Klingons had taken over 20% of (former) Federation territory. Which sounds like a LOT, but I don't think it necessarily breaks with soft-canon representations of the 'Four Years War' between the Federation and the Klingons.
I saw that too! Even got a Star Trek Online mention from the host. Good job!
