The in game calendar is looking pretty empty. Sometimes, it will show events out a month or so, but it seems to be rarely updated lately. Any chance the calendar could be updated soon to show us what events will be happening over the next two months? We're all assuming there will be an anniversary event. It would be nice to see the dates, even if the details haven't been worked out yet. Would also be nice to see any upcoming weekend events (mission replays, XP weekend, Dilithium weekend, upgrade weekend, shuttle weekend, etc).

- There is currently a Research & Development Bonus Event running. I think it should end next Monday.
- The Winter Wonderland Event ends on Jan 18th, 2018 when the servers goes down for maintenance. The end date should also apply to the consoles.
- The official anniversary of STO is February 2nd. However, the Anniversary Event typically starts on the Thursday prior to February 2nd; right after maintenance ends. Since February 2nd, 2018 is on a Friday, that means the Anniversary Event will start on Thursday, February 1st, 2018.
Since the Winter Event started at the same time for PC and consoles, I am going to assume that the Anniversary Event will begin at the same time for PC and consoles as well.
The reason the calender sometimes seems empty is because it constantly changes. What shows one week might not be on the next or they might not have allocated events yet. It's only the first week in January so February's events are still being scheduled. As for posting Anniversary event...if they did, without any details, there would be an uproar that it was so vague. The Dev's cannot win in any case. Someone will always complain.
Except Tribble has been very, very quiet lately. Last year, we got Tribble stuff for season 12 during the winter event. So far, nothing has been updated lately. Either they are planning on a quick small release, or Season 14.5 is not for the anniversary and all we get is a new episode.
If Tribble is quiet then it's for a good reason. There has been times when things have gone straight to holodeck to avoid spoilers.
Except that when they do season .5 releases, they usually put up the Non-spoiler stuff with it. Think back to 13.5, where we got the Ferengi Admiralty campaign and the Endeavor system in the update.
Going back to the last thing that was actually called a .5 season that was released in late-January, we had Season 8.5 in 2014. That had the Anniversary event, a new FE, the Klingon War revamp, Quick equip, loadouts and ship switching in sector space/social zones. The first patch to Tribble with any of the stuff that we would see before the launch was January 10th.
It's the same with every late-January major release, as well. Last year Season 12 released for the Anniversary and there wasn't a hint of it on Tribble until January 11th.
They have been really, really busy. It just irks me when people start to lose it, even a little when something isn't updated, such as the news feed or Tribble, for more than a couple of weeks, and they start doomsaying.
I understand not wanting to post spoilers about upcoming content, and nothing in my original post was asking for that. The only mention of related content would be to possibly see the dates of the anniversary event on the calendar.
My whole reason is that some of us have life outside the game (gasp) and don’t want to rearrange IRL stuff to try to do something in game that suddenly appears with no notice or have to miss out on it. It would be nice to have a heads up before non-spoiler stuff happens. We might be able to work schedules around the game content to have both in game and IRL stuff if we have enough notice to plan around it.
Never judge what's on the calendar as gospel. They can, and do change events, even weekend events, even at last minute. Until it comes up in the news feed, just don't trust the calendar.
