Hi Guys,

Hoping you can answer a quick question. I haven't played in about a year so I am wondering if I am misremembering or if they changed something.

I thought I remember being able to buy pretty much any training manual from the Bridge Officer Training Vendor. For example I am trying to find RSP 3 for my Engi Boff.

I would swear you used to be able to purchase any manual but that seems to not be the case anymore. Did they change that and if so what in the world was the reasoning behind that? My Boff's skills suck hard. More then 90% of the 12 or so skills I have on my boff bar are complete garbage for the way I play and I seem to be unable to change them.

Whats up with that?

    You can purchase most rank 1 and rank 2 versions of most abilities from the bridge officer training vendor still. There are certain powers such as Subspace Vortex and similar powers that can only be purchased from the exchange or acquired through lockboxes such as the Infinity Lockbox. The rank 3 versions of powers such as Gravity Well III as one example, must be trained by the appropriate career of captain who has the right skill setup to enable the training. If you pull up your skills screen and look at the bottom of the screen where your space skills are, and mouse over the various little points on the bars, you will see various unlocks and skills that can be trained at those points.

    Under the old system you constantly had to retrain a bridge officer if you wanted to use a new power. With the new system we have now, you can swap powers in and out at will if you have them trained. It's alot better and alot more convenient.

    Manuals are also available on the exchange, but some of the more exotic abilities can be pricey :wink:

    17 Skill Points in Tactical can let your Tac Captain learn that Skill to produce TS3 Manuals. The Jem'Hadar Boff from 'Facility 4028' was the go to Boff to grind that in the day. Elisa Flores also has it.
