Suggestions for more gameplay and player interest

I have a list of how to increase interest in gameplay:

Create events which have leaderboards. Players will interact more with a leaderboard for an event possibly based on outgoing damage, ships destroyed, healing, or maybe a time limit. Possibly attacking certain ships or visiting old, unused parts of the game to get more interest in multiple parts of the game. Similar to the Endeavor system but with a leaderboard to gain unique new items such as consoles, gear, or new limited time unique ships.

Possible prizes for the events could be one time reward ships.

I would definitely begin using experience points, or credits, or dilithium to unlock special features for the new reward ship in the game. But make it significantly harder to reach so one would have to play for extended periods of time, say a couple weeks, to get to unlock 3 or 4 features of the new ship. Maybe a special console slot or extra internal ship specific weapon.

Another suggestion would be to limit those getting the new reward ship. Obviously the top slot should get more of everything in terms of rewards but possibly 2-10 get certain rewards as well. I have seen android game servers get overloaded because of the amount of players trying to get into the top ten on a leaderboard during game events.

I would possibly create an event for items to help create unique and very hard to create new universal consoles. Possibly having to play several events just to get enough items to create a certain console. This will generate alot more interest into obtaining these unique items.

A new feature instead of putting ships out of the C-store to buy possibly make the ship into plans as there was once with obtaining torpedo platform plans. Once you obtain the starship plan, you must obtain the items to complete each section such as a bunch of items to create the bridge, engineering, nacelles, holodecks, shield systems, crew quarters, weapons ( as well as decide how many weapons to get to possibly get to ten weapons on a ship but will cost more items to get and should take a while, don't make it easy), deflector items, warp core assembly. Basically like building a Colony world but instead its a ship and it would take some time to construct.

    They should, also, keep track of death counts.
    If you die too many times, you are out of the running for the unique end rewards.

    LOL! Oh even better...make the program decline you for even queuing up if you have too many deaths on the docket.
