Okay idea I guess but I agree with others, kinda a waste of development time just to save a few seconds from inputting some numbers into the dilithium exchange.
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power
I mean, come on. we already move our dil around, just let us put it in the account bank already. I would even pay for that feature.
You've seen how they've screuued up the queues screen, right? You really want them to mess with something else?!?
(btw I find it funny the forum wants to spellcheck scruued, just so it can then turn it into ****)
Sometimes I think I play STO just to have something to complain about on the forums.
I put my own * in words so you get the word without their silly 'spellcheck' blotting it all out.

What they should do is make an extra option for the dil exchange menu where you can add all your characters dil without being forced to make 5 offers in the actual exchange part, that would also save you from having to use a bank option.

With that argumentation we also wouldn't need to be able to bank our EC because if we still were that ma5ochist we could transfer our EC from toon to toon over the exchange as well. Like we actually had to before they added the account-bank.
When exactly did the idea of simple convenience become obsolete?
I can't imagine that it'd be that much of an effort. If you can bank your EC you should also be able to bank your dilithium.
No. You have the dilithium exchange if you want to hot potato the pink between characters. It does not require you to plop your 4th point of contact in your ship ready room or a social zone to do it either. The dil exchange IS your dilithium account bank.
Actually, it would be helpful if the R&D Inventory were Account-wide as well.

Ok had a further thought about this and I think this is a no go idea. As I mentioned account bank is only accessible via social hubs/fleet maps and bridges.
The Dilex is accessible on every map you enter.
I think its works fine as it is.

The Dilex is accessible on every map you enter. Also the exchange was never meant to be a way for people to transfer dilithium between characters.
I think its works fine as it is.
Not true if the Devs actually fixed the account bank on the transport ships you can summon from your first mission in the 25th century arc. The dil exchange is supposed to be a way to convert dilithium to zen or back. Arguably it's a bug to send dilithium between characters through it.
Actually, it would be helpful if the R&D Inventory were Account-wide as well.
No that would cut back in inventory slot sales in the Z store. Dilithium doesn't take up inventory slots which makes it a better candidate.
One other thing, having the ability to bank dilithium like energy credits could make it easier to spend said dilithium by increasing impulse purchase temptation. This could also potentially spark more zen sales since people will be playing to replenish those more on alts and increase the desire for better ships, etc for said alts and other things.

The problem with the transfer system is it only holds 5 offers, so when you move on to transferring 8000 dil from the 6th toon you have to claim all offers back and combine them to put them back up again before moving on to more toons.
This one is simple to solve.
At 25 dil per zen, this means to transfer 8K dilithium is 320 zen. Then all you have to do is cancel offer each time and resubmit on each character. You don't even have to withdraw it from the DilEx.

You can do this all the way up to the maximum purchase of 5000 zen. This makes it 1 offer.
A little thought and basic math and this take care of itself.

The freighter can only be called once every 2hrs according to STO Wiki. i believe there is a trait or unlock that halves that time but the timer doesn't reset when you log a character out, so the following day if you haven't spent the time on that toon to reset the timer then calling the freighter will still be on cool down meaning a trip elsewhere.
Also the account bank has been broken since 6th of July 2016 i wish it was but it isn't getting fixed anytime soon, so using Dilex is still more convenient.
Hello rubber banding my old friend, time to bounce around the battlezone again, where are all my bug reports going?, out of love with this game I am falling, As Cryptic fail to acknowledge a problem exists, Shakes an angry fist, And from Support all I'm hearing are the sounds of silence.
The Trade Freighter, I believe, also doesn't count down when you are on a Ground Map. They are very inconsistent in their countdowns as to when and where the countdowns occur.

You are absolutely right there. It doesn't count down if on a ground map.

The freighter is still more than what you original suggested. Also while implementing the account dilithium storage they can fix the freighter's account bank access. Finally if you really need a bank that bad and the freighter is in cool down you have transwarp to get you to a starbase/planet with banking facilities.

That's my point if it is in cool down you have to transwarp somewhere else to access the service, where at present I log on/select the app drop down box/Dil exchange and submit my offer. Change character and repeat without having to move any character anywhere.
If i'm in Dyson Battlezone I don't have to beam up/leave allied sphere space/call freighter or select app tab/click go to bridge/run across bridge to ready room/select acc bank.
Dilex is far more fluid

The dilithium exchange is your account dilithium bank.
When you post an offer, the dilithium goes in to it. When you cancel that offer, it goes in to the "bank", which ANY character can withdraw from.
As I said, from here, it's a minimal amount of thought and some basic math. It is not hard to figure out and it doesn't take but an extra minute, maybe two, per character.
As for making the assets account wide. That comes with the added problem of tallying up all the assets. Remember, there's a maximum amount of these that each character can have. Some people would actually lose assets if they did this.
