Why is it free for the ps4 an not xb1? I also think you should get in touch with Microsoft and ask them to change the requirements for the game as it clearly says it's free to play and no where on it mentions that you need to pay to play and though you don't need to pay for the game your technically paying for something to let you play the game in really disappointed in this decision as I already had an existing arc account and was hoping to play my characters I made but this has caused some problems and please let people know it isn't free because it is very misleading.

    Even PC players have to pay for internet access.

    Ummm... Yeah...

    STO is actually not a free game because you need to purchase the console and pay for internet service. The game is not free on the PC either because you need to buy a PC or laptop and you need internet service as well.

    STO is a free online game... why would it need internet service?

    Yes, yes, I see your point... and while the universe is at it, since I already own my car I shouldn't have to pay for gas for it to run, either.

    Now a LTS and loving it.
    Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
    I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything. :D

    The game is free to play on all platforms.

    The money you pay for access to XBox Live is a fee imposed by Microsoft, not by Cryptic Studios. The game is on the XBox Network and Microsoft is charging you for access to that network.

    You should direct your poorly punctuated, incomprehensible rant to Microsoft. I'm sure they'll take it very seriously.

    ALL multiplayer games on XBox One require you to pay for XBox Gold. This is not negotiable. But, to my mind, its worth that little extra to pay for a much more secure service where its easy to remove those that cause the game harm. There is no hackers on XBox Live to really speak of, and anyone caught doing this is usually banned within an hour. Xbox Live is properly moderated as well (unlike PS+), and reports are usually seen and acted upon.

    Excellent point. I would also like to complain that as a pc player I have to pay Verizon for my internet and Peco for my electricity. My eyes would also like to complain about the strain this paragraph long sentence put on them.
