"Diplomatic Orders" - Changing Speakers, why?

Before I begin, spoiler warning for new players; if you haven't finished the 'Klingon War' story arc, stop here until you have...

With the recent new season, La Forge has been - pardon my bluntness - shoehorned into earlier missions; I can understand replacing... actually, I can't even remember the NPC's name... who gave "Temporal Ambassador" since they don't even appear in-game anywhere since the ESD revamp...

But why, why change "Diplomatic Orders" like it's been? It made perfect sense for Thelin of the Kirk to hail the player and comment on them returning the help one day, especially with the later events of the 'Klingon War' story arc involving the Kirk coming under attack by B'Vat's forces. It seems like the only reason to change it to La Forge speaking instead is to slide him into things before "Beyond The Nexus" in its new position between "Past Imperfect" and "Temporal Ambassador".

I know some are thinking "It's such a minor thing, why complain?"... I suppose, as circular as the logic is, it's because it's a minor thing that I find myself wanting to know why change it... It's not as though it being La Forge (and referring to "Beyond The Nexus") really adds anything more to the game than it being Thelin (and referring to "City On The Edge Of Never"), after all...
"If you can't take a little bloody nose, maybe you ought to go back home and crawl under your bed. It's not safe out here. It's wondrous, with treasures to satiate desires both subtle and gross; but it's not for the timid." -- Q, TNG: "Q-Who?"
^Words that every player should keep in mind, especially whenever there's a problem with the game...

Been a while since I've done that mission, but from what I've read elsewhere, Cryptic has become a member of the Screen Actors Guild, so a lot of non-SAG voices are being replaced.
