Enemy Turrets for missions

Do they exist? am i just blind? i need stationary turrets/platforms like we see all the time in missions, and use ourselves, that fire torpedoes and beam weapons. at the moment i have attack groups in small costumes, hidden inside larger structures to act in similar fashion, but sometimes they escape. are there Actual turrets with which to work and i have just been missing them? any help would be wonderful, thankyou.

We do not have stationary turret combat NPC's in the Foundry. Anytime a turret might be relevant for one of my missions I just op to use reskinned fighter mobs as "defensive drones." For the most part they serve the same narrative function of automated defenses. You can't build a map the same way as you would turrets, but accommodating NPC ship movement also accommodates player movement too (which is a plus for making your mission accessible.) :)

I'd say there's at 2 ways of making "turrets" in a mission from a narative standpoint that I know, first is what Duncan just said and way that works best for space and second way is make them a narative obstacle that player needs to overcome thru brains rather then brawn (aka you say "you can't enter this area the turrets will kill if you do" and use forcefields or invisible walls to block the player's path to make not see past the illusion, mean there's no turrets or they're just static props rather then something you can fight against).
