Hello,
Can someone please help me to understand what they mean with that starship trait ?
Starship Trait – Kick Them While They’re Down
After achieving Level 5 in your Son’a Command Science Vessel, you will unlock the Kick Them While They’re Down Starship Trait. While this trait is slotted, a
ctivating any foe-targeted Control Bridge Officer Ability on an enemy that is affected by a Control effect will grant you an increase to Critical Chance for a moderate period of time. This effect can stack several times.https://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/10571234-the-stats-of-the-son'a-ships!
If i understand correctly, you need to use a control ability on an ennemi which is already under control to get the critical chance bonus ?
Example : I am using frequently Gravity wheel III which will put on the ennemies a control effet, then i have to launch "Jam Targeting sensors" or "Scramble sensors" on those already controlled ennemies to trigger the critical chances ?
Am I right ? or is there a subtlety ? cf : "activating any foe-targeted Control Bridge Officer Ability " = mean something more like tractor beam ?
Thanks

But it sounds to me like you have to activate a control effect on an enemy and have that ability actually take effect. In other words, if you activated a tractor beam on an enemy that was immune to tractor beam then the trait would not proc. They have to actually be effected by the control effect you used in order to receive the increase to critical chance.
Now of course, that leaves the question.. if you opened with a Gravity Well which effected the foe, then while they were in the effect of the gravity well, hit them with a tractor beam which they were immune to, would the trait proc a 2nd time since they're currently effected by the Gravity Well? Who knows.. but sounds like it should.
Again though, this is just how I interpret it.. this game is full of poorly written descriptions exactly like this that constantly leads to player confusion.
