Devs: TNG uniforms for NPCs on Galaxy bridge, please.

I love the new uniforms, shuttle and extras that are part of TNG's 30th anniversary, but I really wish the NPCs on the Galaxy bridge were dressed in one of the uniforms from TNG.
In the immortal words of Captain Sisko: "It may not be what you believe, but that doesn't make it wrong."

Don't believe the lies in this forum. I am NOT an ARC user. I play STO on Steam or not at all.

And the ironic thing is that the Constitution Bridge proves its possible to have non-Odyssey wearing crew...
(Not counting missions the various missions in the game where Starfleet, Romulan and Klingon NPCs come in 23rd or 24th Century outfits instead of the 25th century standard.)

I'm not a programmer, so I have no idea if it would work, but it's too bad we don't have an option - similar to what we have for UI color customization - to set our Ship NPC Crew skins. I mean, not just stop with TNG for Galaxy-class bridges, but have a full-fledged selection of 'TOS/WOK/TNG/VOY/DS9/AGT/Ent/Kelvin' for Fed, '23c./Imperial Navy/Republic/Reman Resistance' for Romulans, and '23c. KDF/KDF/23c. Gorn/Gorn/Orion/Nausicaan' for Klingon players. All it would really need to do is simply 'reskin' the NPCs, not even alter their behavior.

Dominion War Defiant-class, with appropriate uniforms.
    T6 Excelsior, with WoK uniforms.
T6 Gorn MMSV with an actual Gorn crew.
D'deridex with IRW prefix and a Star Empire loyalist crew wearing RSE uniforms.

    *sighs*

It's something to dream about, anyway...

^Words that every player should keep in mind, especially whenever there's a problem with the game...

Options, yes. But forced uniforms on a interior are limiting, after all even the TOS ships are officially serving in the 25th century again.

I'd suggest a switch at the ship tailor, offering a toggle in "native crew" - if checked, TOS bridges come with TOS, TNG with TNG crew, Gorn ships with Gorn and so on. If switched off we get faction default.

The problem with simply making it 'Native Crew' instead of a menu to select from is that plenty of classes - and sometimes even ships themselves - continue serving through various uniform changes. The Excelsior-class has seen every uniform design since the 2280's (Excelsior with WoK, Hood with TNG, Lakota with DS9/TNG Film), same for the Miranda-class (Reliant and Saratoga from WoK, the second Saratoga with TNG, plus those that served in the Dominion War in DS9), plus you've got 29th and 31st Century starships that don't necessarily have uniforms to go with them (or worse, have alternate skins that are from an entirely different century) - in those kind of cases, how would 'Native Crew' be defined?

That's why I think it needs to be a selection list no different than the bridges and interiors themselves; so that if a player wants a WoK-era Excelsior or a TNG one, a TNG-era Miranda or WoK-era Soyuz, DS9-era Nebula-class or one from the 2360's, a 29c. Temporal Escort T6 with Wells uniforms or a 23c. one with TOS uniforms, etc., they can select their NPC crew appearance appropriately instead of being stuck between 'Faction Default' of 25c. Odyssey or 'Native Crew' of a specific era.

I think a tab next to Bridge and Layout for Crew. You could have ENT, TOS, TWoK, TNG, DS9, and Oddy and sell racial ones such as All Gorn or All Andorian.

Perhaps the options could also unlock with purchase of the uniforms from the C-Store (or Andorian or Gorn with purchase of any of the species ships).

So if you want the option to staff your Gal with TNG era crew you buy the TNG uniforms from the C-Store and select TNG from the Crew tab in the ship tailor.

With Lobi and LB ships coming with their own built in Crew as they do for Bridge (Wells, KT, Terran, etc.)

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

If that's technically feasible, sure pig-1.gif

Well there's something in the code that'll stop crews appearing on ships with no interior and something that'll overwrite the crew with a TOS one for the Conni. So it might be.

You should be able to design your own costume that crew members on your ship will wear

I think I remember that at some point yeeears ago one of the devs ( probably @tacofangs because he's always talking to us annoying nags pig-2.gif ) said (and I hope I remember this right) that since we don't actually have our own interior but all are suing a generic one there had to be one version of each interior with every crew and other interior modifications (if they were possible) and our choices simply handle the redirect which map we use. So they had to create every interior with every crew and have it hog resources. That might have been the problem, but maybe I'm all wrong about this.

I think I remember this now. All the bridges and interiors are on one big map or something which is why it takes so long to load it when you select 'go to bridge'.
