Is there a way to find out how many assets I have left?

I've been using building assets to build a temple. I reached my limit so I started deleting pieces one by one with the intention of finishing it off with the assets under details.

I thought I read somewhere that you can use the same assets in the detail tab without it counting towards the buildings. Am I wrong about this? Is there a way to find out exactly how many assets I have left?

Not directly as far as I know, but if you know the asset limits you can select all your assets and calculate based on the asset count how much you got left. Also you are correct building assets and detail assets use seperate asset counts and limits (about 60 for building IIRC and about 500 for details IIRC).

You might try searching Youtube for tutorials on these things I'm sure there's people who can explain it much better then I can.

Though as rule of thumb, make broad structures using the "building" tab then add details and more complex parts of the structure using the "details" tab.

The building asset limit is 64 while the detail asset limit is 475. There are a few objects that appear in both the building and detail tabs, notably the building blocks and foundation blocks. You can sometimes swap out those for their counterpart to free up some assets in one category vs. the other.

As far as telling how many assets you have used in a give category, I usually just select everything, then unselect the things that aren't detail objects. (When arranged by type, they'll be clustered at the top of the list.) For buildings, I'll just select those individually. (Again note, building objects will be arranged above detail objects when sorted by type.)

If I know I'm getting close to the limit, but want to do a depth sound of sorts, I'll place an asset off to the side, then hit the duplicate button until an error shows up in the error list.
