Old/New player returning

Hi I'm an old player returning (well over 3 years i think) so might as well treat me as a new player I'm looking for a build to help me get started I've no clue what officer I want to be, Oh i'm also a silver sub player to dont know what that limits me to? any help would be Awesome.

    If you're starting completely over, then my suggestion is to play a tactical character. At least for your first character. That's going to be the path of least resistance as it will take less effort to make an effective DPS build with that class than any other. Beyond that, you may want to consider rolling a Romulan Tactical character, as you can get bridge officers with Superior Romulan Operative traits right off the exchange, greatly increasing your critical hit chance.

    Not that the other classes aren't as good, mind you. They simply take more work/investment to bring them up to damage numbers nearing what Tactical captains can do.

    You can't go wrong with a Tactical character. They do well in just about any type of ship so you won't feel limited to anything you might not like.

    Hi I need some clarification on the Nihydron Destroyer on sto.gamepedia it has its hull rating at 40th 31500, 50th 36225, 50th 42000. And hull(T5-U)-36225 which I gather getting an upgrade for will do but the 60th one is that an upgrade token to?

    The T5U requires an upgrade, other than that the hull stats automatically "upgrade" as you hit levels 50 and 60. The Nihydron is a quite nice little ship, although it says Destroyer it flies more like an escort, all of my toons had Nihydrons up until I broke down and started buying T6 ships.

    so i dont actually need to purchase an upgrade token for it on sto.gamepedia the t5-u and level 50 hull are the same 36225 so i wont have to spend Z at all then right?

    It's been a long time back, however I do believe that the sto.gamepedia post needs some work. The T5 Nihydron has a 31,500 hull, period. If upgraded to T5U the hull increases to 36,225 at level 50 and 42,000 at level 60. That is the pattern for all T5 ships that are upgradeable to T5U, at least that I have bought.
