33 so far in a pug and hope to better that this weekend. Lots of fun, and the dance emote is hilarious. Not doing it for the pulsewave or 14X reward, just for a ground challenge. Would have much preferred a weekend event but still having a good time.
You come to the short queue, expect players will want it to be short.
And vice versa on the long one.
Don't queue for the wrong one and come here to complain about it.
And more generally, if you have specific demands of the team, don't pug.
People announcing they want out after 5 rounds was happening in the LONG queue, not the timed one. Obviously, if I were to have joined the short queue, I would expect it to be...short.
Frankly, farming for the multiple alts and so-called "speedruns" was the purpose for which I imagined Cryptic created the short queue - which is why I don't queue for it.
The only demand I have for the long queue is the one which any reasonable player would have - to come prepared to fight until it reaches it's natural conclusion, not quit prematurely.
I've seen someone mention 5 rounds once in the long one, but they only said that was enough (as if anyone didn't know), not that they were quitting. I was tempted to advise them they want the short queue for speedruns, but decided not to bother since they didn't say they were quitting.
On the other hand, the short one frequently gets some people who (try to) stretch it to the full 20 minutes for no good reason.
Round 26 is my furthest in a Pug however the mark to time reward ratio is dam horrible. Not worth trying to farm marks from this event.
Post above me shows round 201 and only 163 marks. I hate to think how long you spent in that match to get that far.
If I could get Binary Circuit Elite to pop and win that's a cool 180 marks for less than 8 mins work
Hello rubber banding my old friend, time to bounce around the battlezone again, where are all my bug reports going?, out of love with this game I am falling, As Cryptic fail to acknowledge a problem exists, Shakes an angry fist, And from Support all I'm hearing are the sounds of silence.
Round 475 with everyone just wielding a Bat'leth. The enemies just surrendered to our might and refused to enter the Arena and engage. At that point we just decided to fish in the center pond. You should see the size of the mar'liN we caught.

First day: round 24, freaking 20 minutes for 600 Dil. blah.
Second day: round 4, 2-3 minutes for 600 Dil. yay!
The rewards for high #'s is pathetic. Unless you are just here for the challenge, spending more than 4 minutes here is a waste of time. Cryptic should change the queue names to "Suicide Squad" and "Overachievers"
Just give me my 14 tokens for a pulsewave gun I have no stats on! So I can shoot it 4 times, then hand it off to a boff to use/hold.
^Yep.
Made it to lvl 100 on one character. The pugs I did that weren't just to get to level 5 seem to make it to 50s.
Curious as well. Got to level 55 myself, excused myself for bathroom break and came back a moment too late to revive the team.
That was about an hour into a match.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Sarcasm folks, you know with the Bat'leth only and opponents refusing to enter the Arena. The tipoff should have been that tall fishing tale.

Went for another run, and deliberately stopped at 130 because we got bored once the accolades stopped flowing (100 is the limit I guess). Overal more fun than last event, but the heal immunity in the latter part is kinda lame. Maybe think of something more creative next time.
On the other hand, the short one frequently gets some people who (try to) stretch it to the full 20 minutes for no good reason.
Because they enjoy the content? I know that is the reason I play it for as close to 20 minutes as I can.
The que is 20 minutes long, not 3. If you have 30 alts and you need that 50,000 unrefined dilithium (because we know you don't care about a handful of marks or a space shotgun for 30 alts) then get into a premade.
I made it to 101 with two fleet mates and two guys from DPS Gold for the accolades. Exciting fight!

Still it is somewhat disappointing that cryptic has such a trouble to hand out rewards appropriate to players achievements and instead incentives gameplay where wide parts community do it to lvl 5 only to fail it there on purpose for the daily. I understand that those events are supposed to get peeps to log for 14 days but I’m sure there are less annoying and stupid ways to do so.
Last time this came around I think we got to round 45-50 with a random PUG group.
This time, 5 rounds has been my top result
It'll be Suicide Sompek's until all 6 characters I'm running through can complete the project.
After that's done though, I'd like to try to get to 100+ with a nice organized group.
It's really nice that there's a "quick way" through this event. With no time gates like in Mirror Invasion.
We're going to need boatloads of Dil for the new Fleet holding coming out and this little infusion should help...

Holy TRIBBLE. Who did you have on your team? The Avengers or the Justice League
Fleet Admiral of the U.S.S. ATTILA KHAN-CDA (NX-921911).

It seems to me that this is an untenable middle ground. The majority of people are going to be people who want to do the queue for however long it takes for everyone to die (regular queue) OR people just interested in doing the minimum for the rewards.
Several people noted that their group got bored and ended the queue. Is there another reason why folks would want to have a hard cap on the length?
The Timed queue seems to max around level 25 for the full 20 min. Given the variability of the pugs, how frequently do groups get beyond level 35 or 40 in any case. That's what, and extra 10 minutes making it a 30 minute queue? While I suppose that there are some folks who might want to test themselves to see how many levels they can achieve in the 20 minute window, how many are there compared to the other two groups?
The only real option would be to have a 10-minute queue for people rewards grinding, a 20 minute queue, and an unlimited queue - which would actually be counterproductive from a game metrics perspective, I'd wager.

10 minutes is still 8 minutes too long.
In practice, the only cutoff we need is wave 5, when you qualify for the reward. Everyone else can play the unlimited version and if they get bored and suicide after X minutes, that's their own business.
> The Timed queue seems to max around level 25 for the full 20 min.
Only did the timed queue once and we hit round 32. Not a pug, definitely overpowered group.
That's actually the only serious non pug group I've gone in with that wasn't just going for 5. Pug wise I've made it to an agonizingly long 52.
Worst I've done is round 3. Pug queue with one man missing. Tholians spawned and hit me with stasis while the other 3 people just fell over.
Honestly the event just isn't that fun, I'm only suffering through it for the rewards. Those long matches simply don't give proper rewards for how much time they waste. I might do one more serious group to try and hit 100, but otherwise I'm OK with 5 round runs...though when I do pug queue it I do try.

45 with a Pug, until we got totally stomped by iconians. :P

That's mad but big congratulations sir! How did your team manage to do fine for so long with all the heal debuffs?
Let me guess... there's also a title 'The Glorious' if you make it past round 100?
Ugh... now I have to try and get there too
Not that I'll get anywhere near it, but it's still fun to try [/quote]
Yes thats correct, you might wanna read the guide we published at sto-league.com (link in my sig). And good luck beating it, its easier than you might think
Felisean did an awsome job with the Sompek guide of the STO-Lague which is very comprehensive. Take especially a close look at the kit modules!!! Of course it helps best if all in team follow it so it is a bit hard to implement in pugs. On another run my fleet mates and I made it to 89 again but died because of some mess ups. Practise surely helps too!
If you like, @risian4, we try it together later if we manage to assemble a good team. I‘d love to get and display “The Glorious” title for my Starfleet Klingon toon. We have met you in various pug runs over the years and you can surely do it.

We made it to wave 201 and stopped it there since it doesnt scale past wave ~110. But the changes are great and its defnitly more fun than last time

Getting knocked into the laser beams sucks almost as badly as getting grav mined into a lightning bolt zone

STO deserves a better image than that.

Oh the heal debuff is at 100% after wave 108 or so. Temp HP are the secret there.
