Disney to pull its content from Netflix, start its own streaming services

I've been saying it for YEARS... the 800-pound gorilla is awake, and starting next year with ESPN... begun, the Content Wars have.

This is why CBS All Access exists, kids. This is why Discovery is on All Access. And, finally, this is the final death throws of cable. Live sports are the key, and as soon as the major sports leagues (namely, the NFL) figure out viable streaming options... game over. You'll pay $5 here, $10 there, and some chunk of money to a "big dumb data pipe."

Your dreams of simply paying $9.99 for all the content you ever wanted are DEAD.

And to top it off ISPs are going to start to charge even more now because they will claim too much data usage because everyone is streaming.

Indeed. It's a way for them to "continue the gravy train," as it were. They neglect their networks, refuse to let competition exist in many markets, and will fleece their customers without fear of reprisal. It's a problem.

Personally, however, I don't think Net Neutrality (at least as it is currently portrayed) is the answer. The government shouldn't allow the stifling of competition, and the companies themselves should be constantly working to provide us with the best service possible... but that is about where I want any government intervention to end, LOL. Government regulators are just about as trustworthy as corporations, IMO.
