Is it possible to add a working holodeck to our ship interiors?

I would love a new system that lets us go into a working Holodeck on our ships.

You go to your ship's interior then down to the holodeck. Once outside of it you get a list of programs to run. this could be programs from the show that get made playable in STO. Programs that I think should be on the list.

- Dixson Hill private detective
- Sherlock Holmes mystery
- The Adventures of Captain Proton
- Klingon calisthenics program
- Utopia Planitia Starship Development Project

I also think this should be how we get to the Foundry missions.
Dr. Miranda Jones: I understand, Mr. Spock. The glory of creation is in its infinite diversity.
Mr. Spock: And the ways our differences combine, to create meaning and beauty.

-Star Trek: Is There in Truth No Beauty? (1968)

    Yes.

Every Foundry mission basically is a holodeck mission (or any mission, really, for that matter). So, there'd be no good reason not to start one from your holodeck doors. But Cryptic has long since decided they won't do it.

This: Foundry can give us holodecks.

Hell, I have a holo adventure on my shortlist for future missions to make.

I have to disagree with this part. None of my missions bill themselves as holodeck simulations. If Foundry access were routed to a physical location, and one that actively undermines the stakes, setting, and characters involved (openly declaring "this is not real in the STO universe") then...well, basically the Foundry would suffer tremendously. Us authors could only do so much to cross the distance built into this new holodeck format. Character deaths, new worlds, new civilizations, would count for nothing even within the context of the mission (nevermind player head canon).

The Foundry is a great community writing tool and it can certainly encompass holodeck programs (boy howdy, the Foundry Roundtable is working on the Continuing Adventures of Captain Proton, complete with black and white setting) but it should not be made into a holodeck, totally.

If they did, they'd need to fix the interiors first. Right now, on PS4, only the bridges you pay for like Consitution, Belfast, etc. work. All the others you just get a Bridge and a Ready Room. The Turbolifts don't work on those.

Cryptic add a holodeck and due to an (inevitable) bug an ai is formed that evolves into skynet.

Thankfully however as it evolved from sto the ai was pretty inept and was defeated by turning the internet off and on again.
