Red alert borg queue dilithium reward reduced?

What happen to the red alert events? I use to get 1,440 dilithium each day for completing it. Now I get 480 for completing it. If this is Cryptic way of making us play longer than count me out. I just don't have the time or patience to grind in STO anymore.

Been too busy with the Risa Summer event to notice myself, but wouldn't that be considered a "stealth nerf"?

I know there are Daily Bonuses for each Reputation.

If true that is a significant plummet in dilithium earned & if Cryptic was going to do something like that & not announce it that's pretty clever doing it when the majority would have focused attention elsewhere like the Summer event.

The most logical explanation would be that once the red alerts got integrated in the PvE queue, they got standard rewards for the difficult setting. Red Alerts where outside this for a while, so they got wrapped in some kind of bonus multiplier, now that wrapper does not exist.

Lets hope they find a way to fix that thou.. i'm not a fan of RA, but i do got Dil from time to time..

They've also lost the default Omega Marks reward as well as having the dilithium cut. Presumably it was all on the basis that the rewards were bugged and overpaying compared to other "patrols" which red alerts basically are and what they used to pay out before Cryptic started messing with them a year or so back when the sector space revamp happened.

Regardless it would have been nice if this had been acknowledged, rather than stealth nerfed. Guess we'll just have to say it was nice while it lasted now.

Yeah, but i still think it was an unintended "nerf"

Probably, perhaps they can fix that and the Red Alert XP nerf at the same time.
  • nikeixnikeix Member Posts: 3,972 Arc User
Far more likely they consider it correcting unintended double dipping.

And the Dil reward was disproportionate to the length of time it took. Sorry guys, I will never support 'entitled' view points. If Cryptic have 'balanced' the reward, then that's fine. The old RA from the map was level 60 and rewarded 1440, now the RA is Lvl 50, so the reward is naturally lower. Now they just need to balance Crystal's reward.

Crystal is fine since it follows the standard Dil reward established by Cryptic for all PvE queue missions.

The problem with CCA is that a lot of high DPSer play that mission which means the mission does not last very long. Adding an elite version is a possible solution since higher DPSers could gravitate towards that mission for the higher Dil reward. However, if high DPSers think CCE simply takes too much time to complete, then they may default back to CCA.

1440 was so ridiculously stupidly high, I can't believe anyone could've honestly thought that was intended.

Check Tholian, I believe it is still getting 960. The problem was when the Omega Marks Box was removed, with its standard 10 Mark (plus Daily Bonus if applicable), it left the 'Secondary' Mark Choice Box only. That always rewarded ONE Mark (plus Daily Bonus if applicable).
The Tholian, only had the Marks Choice Box that had 10 Marks as the standard reward (plus Daily Bonus if applicable). So ONE vs TEN.

Based on that disparity, and the fact NOTHING was said about changing the Borg RA, I believe this was UNINTENTIONAL when they brought RAs into the new UI.

I must admit, however, that there has NEVER been a notification in Patch Notes either announcing that the Tholian and Borg RAs were going to be moved to PVE Queues, or the removal of the Temporal Maurauders RA, which was a PVE Queue, when the Tholian and Borg became Queues.

The Tholian queue was giving me 480 dilithium as well. I use to get 960 from the Tholian red alert events but not anymore.

How many times do you do the Tholian RA a day? The reason I ask is that when doing the New Romulus 'adventure' areas, each one will drop an additional 480 Dilitium on the first run of that area for the day. That is 720 plus 480. I was wondering if that mechanic was implemented here as well.

No fix for Borg Red Alert in tomorrow's Patch Notes (One Mark reward).

1 mark reward for a higher difficulty due to the players still being scaled down at lvl50.

I use to do the Tholian queue multiple times a day when they reward us with 960 dilithium daily. Now that they give us 480 for the tholian queue I only do it once a day.

OK, so no first time Bonus. Just another series of 'major' changes to Red Alerts with NO PATCH NOTES.

    Consistent I guess.

I don't care much about the Dilitium, but at first the Tholian RA Queue did not give out 1,440 (480 + 480 + 480), but 960 (480 + 480) then after a week it was upped to 1,440 (extra 480 added). Borg was that 1,440 as listed above right from the beginning of the conversion to a PVE Queue. So because of that increase to the Tholian people can reasonably feel that 1,440 was the intention.

Marks was increased for Borg under the Queue system, giving 10 + Daily Omega PLUS Choice Box giving 1 + Daily. Borg RA, when it wasn't a Queue, gave 10 Omega + Daily. After this latest 'change' you only get the Choice Box of 1 + Daily. So the standard Mark reward is ONE now PERIOD.

Tholian gave a Choice Box of 10 + Daily when it was made a Queue. It still is that way. Before the Queue it had the Daily Wrapper that awarded 10 + 55 Romulan Marks. With or without the Wrapper it awarded 10 + 55 Nakura Marks. That Wrapper also awarded 960 Dilitium. I had a Character that still had that Wrapper slotted after the change to a Queue and I did get the Bonus Romulan. I believe I still have one Character that still has that Wrapper slotted.

Plus don't forget that these both were XP Boost Zones with Double XP. Not anymore.

So please don't tell me that the switch to the Borg intentionally made it award a standard Mark payout of ONE.

There definitely was a fubar when they incorporated the RAs into the UI fully.

1440 Dil is an elite PvE map reward. 360 Dil a noral PvE map reward. Quiet frankly, given the task at hand, a Borg RA does not even qualify for the latter so consider yourself overpayed.

Instead of playing „longer“ how about you think about playing... well… „better“ if you want more Dil?

No, they haven't. That only happened when they made it into a queue.

When did the nerf happen? Frankly the only reason to do BRA was for the dil or as a quick way to get the Omega + Choice of Marks daily bonus. I'll have to try it again sometime - been a while since I've looked at the PvE queues, but frankly there's only a handful of missions worth queueing for now, and that was one of them.

When it was the old style Red Alert, before the Queues, and before the Queues were made completely compatible with the new UI the Dilitium reward was 480 Dilitium so

    OLD Style: 480 Dilitium
    Queue: 1440 Dilitium
Queue fully integrated with new UI: 480 Dilitium

    Tholian Red Alert:

OLD Style: 480 + 480 (Tholian RA Daily)
    Queue: 1440 Dilitium
Queue fully integrated with new UI: 480 Dilitium

Yeah...wrong. try again wirh facts next time.

Yeah you just want something to argued about. The fact is people have been getting 1440 dil once a day for the Borg red alert mission from the start. It wasn't until recently that Cryptic decide to stealth nerf the Dilithium rewards. Cryptic is known to sneak in a few stealth nerf from time to time.
