Ship equipment missing.

I recently recently decommissioned one of my galaxy ships, before doing so though I removed all the equipment or assumed I did. The ship was bare before being taken away, but the equipment wasn't relocated back into my inventory. Is there any where else it could have been put besides there, or is it gone for good.

Well let's see, there's your inventory, overflow bag, bank, account bank, shuttles and your other ships. Check all of those. If it isn't there, then you don't have it.
