And that is why the devs never should have messed with the queue lists in the first place. That is just one of many problems with this new season. Until they fix these issues and bring the game back to Legacy Of Romulus standards, I think I'll take my business over to Warframe.
No doubt it's by design. When queues were active a player could get all rep set gear requirements in one night, but with queues dead players need to farm for 2 weeks to get their set.

They Broke it by requireing more mouse clicks, by requiring me to look around for 5 mins before i can do somthing, anything stf wise. but hey once im qued no problems except, BAD NOTICES or NO Notices, got left behind several times. got booted out of a stf then had a leave penalty...lets see what else or how about spending 20min in a que which i forgot about because i had NO visual marker/notice before an stf started. so while im changeing ships and gear, HAND OF Q, hey look im in half equipted ship with no impulse engines...ive been in this game since almost the begging and i have never seen this many bugs that DID NOT involve DC or lag from player volume.

This is MY entertainment (i Payed for it) i dont have a lot of time to relax, so when im trying to relax and have fun, what am i confronted with? Frustration, BUGS, Errors. THE STF UI is the kind of product i would expect from a undergrad Design/Implmintation Class. Not a group of professionals, who have done so much good work. In addition most of what I DO to IMPROVE MY CHARACTER is called Playing...its called DIL, its called rep marks, gotta make them somehow and i do it by playing. if i want a game where all i do is log in and Que up stuff, I will go Play EVE.
3. the problem with ears to the ground is, the same in business as it is in REAL WORLD INTELLIGENCE gathering. Guys on the ground are great, WHEN they can find out the truth, in gaming groups, only a tiny portion of fans go to REAL WORLD EVENTS, so if that is the medium from which you get player feed back, you will NOT get a large data sample and it will have FAN BIAS (FAN- from FANATIC; i.e. those with a belief that defies resason, those who do really DUMB stuff just for a chance at meeting/getting/achieving thier idol or icon.) If its new it, must be aswome, vs ME (if its Easier/Faster=better) So when i have less control, less success in actually playing the game and can play less of the game then i could the day before. Rather than just sitting there staring at LICARS sprites, ill turn on my screen saver.

Can't believe this has been up 2 hours and the flamethrowers haven't come out to defend 'fact' that the game has never been stronger than it is now, and the players love it.

It's good for the game.
If a player was able to get all the Rep set requirements in one night, the good for them. THEY EARNED THEM. I remember busting my tail getting the Borg set BEFORE the reputation was out and I felt like I earned it. Now it's down to play this once every 20 hrs get a little piece. Wait 20 hrs, get another.......
It has all gotten down to get the latest set which is obsolete since power creep and the nerf nukes ruin EVERYTHING. Anyone remember when we were explorers?
heh, I also did the PRE-Rep elite set grind for weeks straight, for those random drops...and I absolutely loved it. To this day I haven't purchased a rep set for any of my toons even tho I've maxxed every rep out on all of them.
Getting those set pieces just don't seem important enough anymore. They're too easy to get.
The queue system is a little buggy. A fleetmate and I tried to queue up for a mission and we both accepted...the window disappeared... we waited and waited... then I looked and we were no longer queued up for the mission. The new queue system needs a lot of work.
Where is your proof that the game is dying? Because that doesn't match up to any information I can find anywhere, & especially not to the plain fact that the game expanded into 2 new markets this last year. If you have some form of actual proof then show it.
I totally agree. My intel shows the game is business as usual. The usual 15-20 instances of Beta Quad, the usual 20+ at ESD, heck even Steam stats don't even support the claim with it showing as the seasonal average and anyone that even tries to use Steam stats as an indicator of declining game population should be hosed down with week old wet kippers
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
I don't like that new queue system very much... It's counter-intuitive, all in all.
^^^
Yep, that's it in a nutshell.
Plus the fact if you join a Borg or Tholian Red Alert queue by Transwarping to and then clicking the Join Borg/Tholian Queue from the Window that pops up when you're at the location; if you go to look at the queue list, I doesn't show you as 'in the queue' (but you are.)
It like they left the original queue system in; but just disabled for anything but joining the Borg/Tholian RA's in sector space; but don't realize the conflict that causes if someone gets confused and has time to Join one of these using the new Queue system at the same time.
Sorry, but that's BOTH just plain sloppy coding as well as sloppy QA.

Amen, brother! The queue system is terrible. After several attempts just to "find" the queue I want, I have to reselect the skill level EACH time I reopen the window. Half the people queuing don't remember this and so few queues are even filling up any more. Perhaps they wanted less people to queue? It is now taking over an hour of 'queuing' sometimes for a queue that used to take minutes......Furthermore, when I queue, it still says 0 are queued. So, am I queued or not? I can leave it, so I assume I am queued, but it says 0, so.....Huh?
Lastly, sometimes I have to confirm the queue after I have confirmed it, others, it will randomly start a 5 person queue with only 4 queued...?? I really have no idea what is going on anymore, and I guess we just aren't supposed to play anymore......
So much clicking on tiny things (the little down arrow to select difficulty).
So much redundant checkmark this, click that other thingy, accept...window vanishes ... ????? .... accept again ..... ???????????????????? .... totally unexpected and random loading into a queue, followed by an instant kick from team at the conclusion.
Well done. But I'll give the designer of this credit for not stooping to the levels of Blizzard. Those guys and their failed Overwatch are top notch in that department.
Also should add, I had to request assistance in zone chat to find ISA and CCA. I'm not a new player, and have been gaming for a very long time. Clicking inside a row is the most un-intuitive thing I've ever had to do, and without their help I would have sat there thinking difficulty levels are hidden somewhere else. Just wow!
Also fix the freaking Tzenkethi Battlezone, after I said I would never go back I tried it tonight, freaking hour with 12 of us, really, do us a favor please just remove it or fix it.
If any dev is reading and no one pointed this before ... i have discovered an additional problem with the que UI.
When one is promted to accept/decline the que start it seems the that two accept/decline buttons are TOO CLOSE to each other and many times one is actrualy cliking reject. After i discovered this i payed attention but in the midst of doing reps/admirality and other stuff i still keep somehow clicking reject even in the pointer is on the accept button. I hate doing this kind of mistakes but even after paying extra attention i kept doing it. I think this is a MAJOR cause of the Immense number of messajes telling that the que was rejected. Please make sure the 2 buttons are not so close to eachother and maybe put the accept one in the right position (of the waindow, so its closer) as 95% of the players that qued actualy want to play it.
After i asked around many said its the same for them.
I realise it's quite bad form, but I've put up a post/poll in the feedback section on this very topic which I think outlines my take on the new UI and my attempts to remain unbiased about its positives. To sum it up though, it's clumsy, convoluted and a pain in the neck to use regardless of how pretty it might be.
Should probably throw on the inability to remove ground queues since I'm utterly uninterested in that whole aspect of STO and the current slew of bugs (at least it better not be intentional) surrounding not having a proper warning display or countdown for when the mission will actually launch.
What everyone buying Zen are really saying while all these bugs are still floating freely:
I'm sure ""Reward Cooldowns" UI now shows the Bonus Competitive Mark timer." is true; but they forgot to put the "View Cooldowns" button on the new crappy UI.

I haven't been in the game to try it, but the rewards thing showing the exact rewards looks nice.
It is clunky, 60% of the time it doesn't work and you can't see how many players are playing in a particular queue.
Last night (UK) I queued up for CCA like I usually do, but instead of it taking under a minute to pop, it took 30 minutes.
I guess the new system is having the opposite affect on even the popular queues...
