Trying my hand at creating a foundry mission...

I have been spending quite a bit of time playing foundry missions. I have found that I am enjoying quite a few of the existing missions. I have been inspired to try my hand at creating a foundry mission of my own. I am just starting out at the moment. I looked through the characters available for the player's contact, but haven't been able to find one that I like yet. So instead of using one of the pre-made characters I have decided to create one of my own. I created an older gentleman that I've named "Alexander" using the costumes tab.

I would like Alex to be the player's contact for the mission. Is there any way to select him as the contact?

Unfortunately, no. Custom assets aren't loaded until the mission has been accepted, so you have to use a pre-existing one.

You can, however, work around it by using a Boff instead, saying something like "We're receiving a transmission from Alexander, putting in on screen" and then having a popup dialogue with Alexander.

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."
