Welcome to Episodes 131-136 of Let's Play Star Trek Online - Winters Fed Walkthrough.
This series is a complete walkthrough of every aspect of the game - Story Missions, Reputations, DOFFing, Admiralty, BOFFS, Research and Development, Fleets, Crafting and End-Game Content etc. Every player, new and veteran, will find them a valuable source of information, tips and tricks. You may even learn something new! This could be anything from an accolade to a system that you didn’t fully understand or helpful hints on earning in game currencies like Energy Credits or Dilithium.
There will be a brand new episode released every Monday through Friday.
In Todays Episodes:
In this episode we do not play a story mission but instead we kit out our main character with Fleet Ground Gear. We start off by going to the Fleet Starbase and before we pick up any gear we are shown how to get the Diplomatic Uniform for free. Once we are finished with that we then go to the ground vendor. We start off by getting some shields then move onto armour and finally on to a ground weapon. After we have picked up those items we then go to the Fleet Embassy to get a new kit and one kit module and then finally to the Fleet Research Lab to get another kit module. During the course of picking this stuff up we stumble across what we think is a pretty big bug but "could" be a great little way of earning a "lot" of Energy Credits. After we have finished with these purchases we are then show where we have to go to pick up the free Doffs for achieving the different commendation ranks in the Duty Officer System. We also get our first look at how to put Doffs onto "Active" service.
In this episode we play the story mission "Delta Flight". This mission features Captain Tom Paris voiced by Robert Duncan McNeill. The beginning of this mission basically has a course for us to follow. You can choose what level of difficulty you want for this part. Eventually we do come into some space combat which we finish pretty easily. Once that battle is complete we then beam on board one of the ships for some ground combat. This is once again completed without any difficulty. After this stage we then move back to space and this section is a little bit more challenging but only slightly.
In this episode we play the story mission "House Pegh". The mission rewards are a little different in this mission compared to most in that you can actually get a choice of a Starship Trait, a Personal Space Trait or a personal Ground Trait. The majority of this mission takes place on the ground and it does have a good bit of running around in it. The combat side of things though is pretty easy as you would expect. When we do finally get up to space it's only a pretty short battle and then the mission concludes.
In this episode we play the story mission "Time in a Bottle". This mission has some very interesting rewards. One that really stands out is a new "Emote" which is the Ferengi Dance Emote. There is also a Very Rare Ferengi Doff which if put on your "Active Ground" can earn you Gold Pressed Latinum per kill on ground. This mission also features Nog from Star Trek: DS9. The mission starts off with a little bit of story on ground and a brief bit of combat then moves to space. Again there is some brief combat before we beam down to a planet. Once on the planet there is some sciency stuff to do then there is some pretty intense ground combat. After this ground combat we then move back into story mode and we are given some tasks to complete. There is also a very important cut scene that we get to see with some important info for the story. This pretty much concludes the mission.
In this episode we don't play a story mission but rather, we finish off upgrading our character, build and Boffs. As it is mentions at the beginning our Boff were kitted out off camera with fleet gear. After this update we are then given a brief recap on the correct method to upgrade gear and how the system works.
