So after having used these for a while (and still using them, really can't get enough of it ) I think they are great - no tweaking needed imo.
It is indeed still true that you cannot hit the enemy as often as with other weapons, even when comparing it to a Lirpa for example. But the extra effects and the different combinations that are possible are enough compensation for this. With a 2/3 filled Commando tree I can easily defeat even faster enemies like Voth groups consisting of Medics, Spec ops or even one of those Voth Generals and their escorts when surrounded by them - without Boffs.
And that's the case even though I'm built more defensively than usual. As stun and knockback resists are quite important I couldn't build my character as offensively as I would have liked, but I'm still very effective with these things.
- Romulan Imperial Navy Armour (Uneasy Allies)
- Counter Command Shield (Undine rep)
- Voth Furiadon Fangs (obviously - epic quality)
- Counter Command Rifle (for the set bonus and to target enemies that are flying or have repel effects that cannot be overcome such as those large Voth Mechs)
Kit:
- Tactical Kit from the Fleet Research Lab with Vascular regenerator (mainly to counter Borg Nanites - other kits might be more suitable against other enemies, haven't really tried anything else yet)
- Modules:
- Coordinated Efforts (to remove Worker Drone's stun - also considering to replace this but not sure yet with what)
- Lunge
- Ever Watchful (figured I might as well choose a Passive module as I try to mainly fight with my weapons for a change)
- Psionic Command Aura
- Biotech Siphon
And of course I had to buy the Dyson Armour for the visuals
