Greater Faction Parity comes to the Zeni Store!!

From the Tribble patch notes~
The dilithium store has a new section, "Account Starship Trait Unlocks", available to players of level 50 or higher. If you own the a starship on your account that grants a trait on the list below, the characters on your account that are of the incorrect faction to fly that starship will be able to instead claim a box containing an unlock for that trait for free. The list is:
•Improved Polarize Hull
•Specialist Knowledge
•Improved Weaponized Emitters
•Ablative Field Projector
•Radiant Nanite Cloud
•Insult to Injury
•Shield Overload
•Numerical Superiority
•Battle Ready
•Designated Target
•Retaliation
•Desperate Repairs
•Emitter Synergy
•Advanced Firing Solutions

So as an example, I own the Eclipse Intel Cruiser and ALL of my Fed/AoY captains have taken the time to fly one and get the Battle Ready trait. My Romulan and KDF captains will finally have access to this tool because of my earlier purchase. Same with the new T6 Archon (Sovereign) and Specialist Knowledge.

    This is really great news for my Romulans! I was missing ablative field projector.

    now if my Fed-Rommy could just claim the Admiralty cards of the >T5 C-store ships I bought. I'm fine w/ my rommy not flying a T6 Sovereign or whatnot, I just want the f'n cards!

    Putting on my pessimist hat... Cryptic could be doing this it be 'nice' BUT really it's probably just a ploy to sell KDF & Rommy ships. Those factions are less played than Fed, so now they can give a non-Fed faction an awesome!!!! power and make Fed players play non-Fed to get the ship and then spend Dil to buy the Trait on their Fed toon!

    This is a good change. My Romulan and KDF characters were hurting for traits.

    Please don't make my head hurt - the reclaim menu is in the Dil store, but THE PURCHASES THAT TRIGGER IT are zeni purchases. So yes, I said 'zeni store' and I meant it.

    I have the Jupiter with Insult to Injury, but I kept thinking how well it would work on my Elite Orion interceptors, Elite Epoch, and Elite Orion Slavers for my KDF captain.

    Jupiter's also looking good with an +accuracy effect on its console. Should make it a good ship for the new version of BFAW.

    Overwhelming Force (Mat'Ha Raptor), Reciprocity (Phantom Intel Escort), and Tactical Retreat (Faeht Intel Warbird) are missing due to being in the Year of Hell Lockbox. Advanced Firing Solutions (Qib Intel Battlecruiser) is the only non-Federation Starship trait on the list. Warp Shadow Decoy (Aelahl Light Warbird Battlecruiser) is the only unique C-Store Starship trait not available due to it requiring the use of a cloak. Although, there are some Federation starships and a ton of Klingon starships that could use it. So it looks like only unique starships that are not available in any other way are available in the Dilithium Store.

    Let me resume. You have to own the ship. It should have a faction unique trait, just as we have faction unique consoles on many ships, then you can buy the trait in the dilithium store. It is not a bad thing, I suppose. They could have done a similar thing for the consoles ...

    Anyway, I am not really happy with the ship trait system. To have the trait I have to fly a ship that I don't like. The solution is to do it not, which I do often. Forget the trait, forget the build.

    The consoles are shiplocked so without the ship they'd be useless.

    Good start. Next time, remove the stupid restrictions altogether let us use the ships themselves. B)

    With invincible put to uselessness for my 4 tac toons and roughly 1B ec wasted this change feels like a long overdue joke at best.

    Think I slot Numerical Superiority on them and call it a day for now.

    I have some of those traits. Will be nice to get them on my KDF and Rom toons.
    Now a LTS and loving it.
    Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
    I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything. :D

    Do you think all you feds can get it as well without having to burn through the ship which is what Im doing right now.

    True, but it does have a strong resemblance to Scouters in general.

    Nope I have a turnover of roughly 5-6B ec/year in STO. No real cash flows just the gains of two month worth of gaming time ruined.

    It's sad and I feel treated unfairly but it's not the end of my (online) world as I usually have a good time while eraning my rewards in STO. :)
