Yeah, I have to say that while I was chomping at the bit to get more and more stuff too, given how much STO has finally made its way over to consoles; it does seem time to exercise a degree of patience for what is to come later.
The consoles are current on Season 11.5 with the recent release of the AoY Expansion.
AoY was released for the PC back in July 2016. It was recently released for the console in February 2017. Therefore, you are looking at a 6 to 7 month wait. Seasons and expansions will always come out on the PC first. It will allow Cryptic to balance out game mechanics and identify a lot of bugs before being released on the console. Of course new bugs can always pop up when content is ported.
New seasons and expansion typically requires immediate patching to take care of bugs. Cryptic can do so any time on the PC version. The same cannot be said for consoles because content of any sort including patches must go through MS / Sony vetting processes that must adhere to their written guidelines which are several hundred pages long. Additionally, there could also patching fees involved.
While MS and Sony has "officially" done away with patching fees around 2013 or so, that does not apply to all developers. Apparently patching fees are still being charged to large corporations like EA. I don't know if PWE is considered small enough to avoid such fees. At least that is according to a pretty long Reddit thread I've read about this matter last year.
