DS9 Doc to pursue HD renders of show clips (with help of backers)

Well, this is an interesting turn...

The IndieGoGo has 9 days left, and it will likely break the 3rd stretch goal before it ends. The final stretch goal has been revealed, and it is a negotiated goal with CBS to re-render selected clips into HD for the doc. The team has stated they need the final stretch goal to be reached ($500k) in order for this to happen, but it would be very similar to the process they did for the TNG remasters. They'll even pull Doug Drexler in to re-render the CGI into HD.
This could open the door to getting the entire series remastered in HD, but that still likely rests in the $$$ of it all. Regardless of that, I really hope it happens.

The doc is about $5,000 away from reaching the final goal, with 4-5 days left!
At the very least, the documentary should have HD clips of the show. But, I seriously wonder if this will get the ball rolling on a full remaster of DS9...
