It could be that Cryptic allowed certain Xbox players to test them to see if their pilot mechanics work properly on the Xbox. Cryptic has been known to allow certain players to test out upcoming ships on Tribble for the PC, but I don't recall any mention of a Xbox or PS4 Public Test Server.
Sorry, what I meant was, previously the ships were listed and all stats and description could be read, but it had no price so it couldn't be bought. Same as the Yellowstone runabout. It's in the ship listing at the requisition Lt., but without a price it can't be bought.
When the pilot escorts could be seen, it couldn't be bought. Now they've been taken down completely.
I just want these ships asap. I've set aside money to buy the mega bundle and get all 9 variants.
hmm it normal to be able to use a boff with pilot abilities on it?
You can use a Pilot BoFF on a non Pilot ship, yes. He/she just won't be able to use any Pilot Abilities. They can still use the normal BoFF powers of their Class (Tactical/Engineer/Science.)

For a while they could be found at the requisition lt at Earth spacedock with 0 zen price, but they've been taken down.
That might be the reason why you are seeing them assuming that people were able to buy them for 0 Zen and Cryptic hasn't taken away these ships.
