Their release strategy has changed. New Episodes are released to coincide with the release of a new LockBox/Lobi Store Update. It would seem that this way development of new can be self-funding.

I would like to see more content at least once a month like other people have mentioned. My play time has gone down a lot this year because of this. I understand making the new content is time consuming and getting permission from CBS to incorporate it into the game has to be just as bad. I am a huge fan of the game. It's nice to see the progression it has taken since day 1.
Fleet Admiral of the U.S.S. ATTILA KHAN-CDA (NX-921911).
What NEW mission content? You mean the single episode you repeat 5X for useless trinkets? Heck thats probably the worst system of release mission content in any MMO. Grindier and relatively small IMO.
Those useless trinkets gave my Mat'ha 7 tac consoles worth of disruptor damage bonuses.
5 fleet tactical +37% disruptor damage (upgraded)
Trinket 1: 1 Entoiled Technology science console +20% damage (more when upgraded)
3 piece set bonus for Entoiled +26.6% disruptor damage
Bonus to the bonus...
Trinket 2: Disruptor torpedo launcher that is buffed by the above. (Think crystaline for disruptors)
Trinket 3: Nausi disruptor array.
That isn't anything to sneeze at especially with disruptor debuffs on targets. Throw in the Terran task force array and the rewards are beautiful.
Next time find out what the 'right' answer is from the 'High Command' first and then put out a poll with just that one choice.

i would rather cryptic paused the release of new content for a while and focus on bug fixing and performance stabilizing of the existing content.

They offer story content for free to all players not just subscribers or through paid expansions, and they create as much as the budget allows.
I'm hopeful that with the increased income from console players we'll get more content more often in the future.
GL with that...
Once the income from the wave of new console players was put to use, there wont be much happening anymore.
After the benefits of the AoY expansion have been made unavailable to newcomers, i really dont see how the game
has the potential to attract fresh blood anymore.
Getting people stuck ona game where they have to live with a second grade existance? Not going to happen.
And you got to have a constant stream of players leaving and joining to keep an MMO healthy.
Tried to get a bunch of buddies hooked up with the game, and guess what...
None of em is still playing, thanks to that 2 class system.
Happened in the Delta expansion before, and is only going to be much worse with inherent account wide
bonusses(really crazy ones mind you) made unavailable to both returning and new players.
I for my part will do just the same, considering how im ought to pay months worth of dil grind on
upgrades that others get for free.
And dont even get me started on "Superior" traits from specialization unlocks etc...
Total no-go, that will come at a horrendeous price for the game in the long run.
Alternative would be that you may play and pay for a new mission directly for lets say 500 zen? I suppose under such a business model we would see more perhaps even monthly
I wouldnt mind paying for content, let the players decide what they want and what they dont want.
Following your logic:
Blizzard announces a new playable faction, but if you werent around during a specific event youd only earn upgrade tokens for
your legendary whatever shiney 20% slower, plus some of your skills would be inferior with no way of changing that,
and ofc youd miss out on some skills, leveling boost etc at all.
Amoung a bajillion other goodies youd allso not get to enjoy, like free epic doffs for all your alts, millions of EC,
highly exploitable free dil generation from throwaway alts, and so and and so forth, that sum up quite considerably...
How many players do you think would give WoW a try?
Allso, the MK13 UR shannigan is listed as temporal agent reward as can be seen here, so nope.
Propably the biggest deal breaker, considering how i pumped hundrets of thousands of Dil in some of my rep gear
(hello 35-40% without rarety upgrade).
Heck ive burned through roghly 200k on my ground shield to get it to UR, so its more like millions even.
i voted yes.
and there still some issues, chapters seem fine, but too limited for 3-4 weeks if doing weekly for next item.
my opinion, add few different reward options, since some console weapons are useless for specific class ships, some players do have 20-30 different ships or more, and not all of them can use those consoles.
i agree about new officers, i feel that we do need few special bridge officers for doing missions as rewards, i was so upset when devs pull out "cluster expanse" missions, i was that close to get a unique purple grade doctor from delta cluster expanse. i still have few unfinished mission line and still in "achievememt" that will never be finished.
i have seen so many duty officer missions that need shapeshifter lockets, ket formula, other plant leafs, and they are usaully from lockboxes, and i hated, those need to move to quest reward menu so we can gather those items and save up for next availaible duty officer missions.
i had lot of jem'haddar ket formula and did duty officer mission, each time, all failed, every one of them, and my supply ran low so i cant do anymore until i restock them by spending on keys, i refuse buying the keys since all missions seem to get failed. i hate that RNG.
back on topic, weekly mission are fine, but need few more options to add as mission rewards and selectable.
The only truely significant bonus from the recruit events was the upgraded rep items.... which you can still get in-game.
Yes you kinda did...
B:
Pedal to the Metal is one of the most useful traits available for free.
See above, you start off with inferior "standard issue" skills.
Sure if you buy 5 t6 ships for traits that might not be an issue, but how many new players throw 150
bucks(more if you dont stick to one faction) at the game, just to play in the same league?
C:
Check that list again and do the math.
For someone whos not allready filthy rich, thats quite a load of free money, dil, quality doffs, gear, etc...
Less expirience and Dil gain account wide allso isnt exactly a bonus "most peole wouldnt care about".
And unlike Delta, you DO get permanent perks that increase effectivity, progress and income.
Allso, most people that play MMOs dont do so to do "remotely well".
Your whole argument is "its all still quite well" completely ignoring what ive actually posted.
A level playing field is the cornerstone of every sucessfull online game.
Theres a reason games like LoL are so incredibly popular.
Eventships, consoles, doffs, pets, etc are all fine for event participation, but account wide bonusses of
that magnitude are an absolute nono.
Especially when you didnt have to actually achieve anything but play for an evening, and being fortunate
enough to be around at that point in time.
That stuff should be reserved for server firsts, very special rewards for remarkable nolifery.
A. See "ignored what i actually wrote". Context dude.
And taking the context into account that quote reads "yes you can still get the mk13 UR unlock".
I never sayd the items were unobtainable, i explicitly sayd that they come at a inferior version and
have to be upgraded by months worth of Dil grind.
B. Traits affect skills, instead of arguing over poor wording you should maybe focus on what the statement
actually tries to communicate.
C. Its months worth of casually plaing in assets, assming you dont earn your money by paying real money for keys.
And yes, it gets you spec points 20% faster(allso +Dil), therefore progression and income. Which is just what ive sayd.
Allso, id love to hear of an example of a DOTA or LoL champ that i cannot farm ingame.
Level playing field in that sense(and again you hang yourself on poor wording ignoring the essense of the statement)
means i can get the same stuff you do, for the same price, with the same effort.
"Effectivity" is the magic word here.
Lastly, its still competition. PvP is just a different form of the same concept.
In PvP you compete over kills, in PvE you compete over effective NPC slaughter.
Its still competition...
And its not like you werent aware of the things ive just explained, its your lack of objectivity and propably fanboyism
that causes you to just ignore the actual issue at hand.
Lots of stuff for me to do, especially patrols and other things and foundry. Though I can understand why some folks would not be. Jagex is putting out a new mystery quest in Runescape just today in a few hours, and some new stuff's coming out too.
But the new Tzenkethi stuff coming, I'm sure I'll be fine.
All the people voting no probably weren't around the dark times where we got no episodes whatsoever and we clamored for more.
I've been around since Beta. There was a time when Cryptic knew how to do featured episodes, back when they did the Deferi, Dividian, and Jem'Hadar featured series. Now, I log in, play the two missions that came out while I was away, play WoW for 6-9 months, log in to play two more missions, rinse and repeat.
I realize STO missions take a great deal of time to make, however SWTOR has a similar mission style and manages to churn out one a month. Story missions are also not the only thing they could do, simply dropping new batches of DR style patrol missions throughout the galaxy would go a long way.
True until the latest Arc. Now a new Misson drops when a new Lockbox comes out.

I wish they wouldn't have added the game to consoles. I feel like pc gamers have suffered since they are splitting there resources between the platforms.
We've only had two new story line missions in the past 9 months and we aren't likely to get another story line mission for another 2 months. They said in a interview they are only going to be put out one story line every 3 months from now on.
Better than zero story lines for a couple of years. All I'm saying is, it could be worse.

Fantastic, so they've confirmed for me that I only need to login for one week every 6-12 months, binge on new content, and then pretend the game is on hiatus. I'll go ahead and only spend money during those times from now on as well.
