My friend told me to try STO. I have not tried it in awhile... I always got lost with the UI, and felt like my god so many skills. So I am coming back to give it a try. I always like Klingon but when I tried them, they was label a PVP faction and did not really want that.
I come to the forum to see what has changed, and I don't see a faction forum anymore?

For your information though, you can find the Klingon forums by clicking here. You can find the forum for Klingon Fleet Recruiting by clicking here.
Just so you know, the Klingon Faction is in no way a "PVP Faction." There is literally no such thing in STO. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask, and welcome back to STO.
Dont worry, forum transition to vanilla was quiet a transition for all of us.

My friend told me that. When I tried the game. Klingon had no storyline really, and was called the pvp faction. So now I found out they have a storyline. Trying to find info on the pros and cons of each faction. Tons of the stuff I find is old.
As I said, you're probably best just posting any questions you have in this main forum. If anyone tells you it's the 'wrong place to post' just ignore them and post here anyway. If you post in one of the sub forums, less people will see your question.
If you're looking for PVP, though, you eventually find that Cryptic frowns on it. There's 3 types: Challenge, Pvp queue, and Warzones. There's a PVP forum somewhere on this forum (don't ask me where. the other's can tell you) where you can ask Pvp questions or join a group that deals in that. It's a serious minority in the game, though. 1 in 200 people or so. There's too many threads about it all to talk about it here, though.
good luck with whatever you choose. = ^.^ =
The Klingon player base is probably the smallest of the 3 factions as far as player numbers go. That's because the KDF faction is sadly neglected by Cryptic, but they keep promising to show them some love (we're still waiting.) That being said, the KDF faction is far from dead, just lower in numbers. You'll still find plenty of content and PVE Ques are all Cross Faction so you don't have to worry about any of that. I would however, caution you if you're planning on playing a Science Character as the KDF are lacking in Science Vessels, those are far more plentiful for the Federation Faction. Even still, you can obtain a Temporal Cross Faction ship that would suit your needs, so even that shouldn't stop you.
There is no real 'down side' to being a Klingon, if that's what you wish to play, I honestly can't think of any reason to advise you against it. If anything, the faction could use your support, so by all means give it a try. If it's not to your liking, you can always make a Romulan, a Fed, or one of each.
If you need anything else, please feel free to ask.
Romulan is a little better than klingon because I can buy the t4 or below ships at the ship requisition officer for the faction I allied myself with.
You like the Klingon Raptors? Have I got the Raptor for you my friend, look it up - Mat'Ha Raptor. Best ship in the game, bar none if you ask me. I got one as soon as they released it more than a year ago and haven't switched ships since. You're gonna love the big "nose cannon".
welcome to the party, and @seaofsorrows gave good, honest advice to you. The solely klink plot(up to like level 20 or 30) is really solid and you'll feel right at home I think.
OP (ragerblade82) I will back you and your friend up. Long ago back in 2010 and before the Klingons got their own storyline and such and before you could start at level 1 with them, many saw it was a PVP focused faction. These other players talking to you may not remember that for some reason?
Suffice it to say it is no longer the case where you have to 'unlock' the Klingons to play or focus on "PVP" for fun. They have a good helping of PVE and queue content you can do, as others have said. Let 'them' (ie the others in this thread - not me, I am still a little pissed at Cryptic for several things) help you out in any other way to get you acclimated to the game again.
Welcome back! I recently came back myself. :-)
The NX ship they released recently is a contender for that spot. While it has no cloaking device like the Mat'Ha it does have a slightly better turn rate and the layout is near what the Mat'Ha is otherwise. It's the Starfleet Raptor almost.
That being said, the Mat'Ha makes a terrific ship for my engie's beam speed boat. No cannon console though.. I have other nice things in there for power, crit, and other goodies.
Actually the KDF and Romulan Republic are missing matching ships for the the intel pack when compared to the Federation. Romulans didn't get a cruiser and science ship intel focused like the Eclipse and Scryer. KDF didn't get an escort or science like the Phantom and Scryer.
What they did get though was the Romulan's got a guardian type cruiser with better turn and the KDF got a nice raptor which was guardian esq in boff layout instead of intel focused like the Phantom.
Whilst this maybe true, remember that in canon, the Federation is prolific at building and designing many different ships to suit the circumstances, the KDF mass produce ships purely for battle, going for quantity over quality, and for no other reason and as for the Rom, well we saw very designs there as well.
People shouldn't berate Cryptic for the lack in variety of designs, especially when the game actually has many, many more than were ever shown on TV or in other licensed games (Modded games and designs are not counted as Cryptic has no license to use them)!
If you are going to argue canon then I'd submit that the Tal Shiar and cloaking technology should have gotten the Romulan players at least one intel based science ship. Having the science down for advanced cloaking technology doesn't make you a cave man in terms of starship designs and types. Also having a background in intelligence and spying like the Tal Shiar should boosted their intel abilities. So by canon reasoning the Republic should have at least gotten a Scryer type warbird. The real life practical reason however is population numbers and the desire to cater only to the largest group of players in a faction.
Yeah, the Mat'ha is a pretty good ship. One of my KDF captains will switch back it after getting the Emergency Weapon Cycle trait from the Kurak Battlecruiser, Withering Barrage from the Kor BoP and Supercharged Weapons from the Martok Tactical Battlecruiser.
Mat'Ha is a fine ship, but I prefer the Pilot Raptors. Fast, capable of the double alpha strike (Pilot Maneuver reverse), Tac/Eng/Sci options, and some decent traits. But the best answer is to buy them all.
