Two new species for players in STO or just more NPCs?

Looking at the Undiscoverd Lockbox news release from Mon 23, Jan 2017 and something made me wonder.

On it are the outfits used by two alien races: The Zambean and the Ithenite.

My question is simple, has anyone heard anything about these two?

Would be nice to have some new races to chose from.

    Most likely will be new NPC races you meet during season 12 episodes.

    They were NPCs from the TOS episode that Chekov appeared in. We're not getting them as a new playable species.
