Curious when Ratings and Tips will be reactivated.

Anyone with any insight or knowledge on this?

    I don't believe anyone except the small colony of gnomes that live underneath cryptic's floorboards has any specific knowledge of when ratings will be brought back online. The condition for this is fixing the most significant issues Lighting 2.0 has with the Foundry. That requires some unknown amount of dev time to be worked into their workload at some point.

    So, just sit tight. In the meantime, you can still play missions (defaulting back to lighting 1.0 when things get bad) and use the mailing system to deliver kudos. I have just realized that this means that you can tip Foundry authors whatever unbound items you want, so...I will be busy playing some missions this weekend. :tongue:

    Was curious about this myself. For the longest I figured just no one was playing my lone mission that's currently up...

    Until I finally got around to playing some other folks', really wanted to tip them, and realized afterwards that I wasn't given the chance to hand them their 5 Stars and dilithium like I wanted. Guess I need to try and hunt down what mission it was again and send em' some mail. Probably with one of my extra Hirogen DOFFs, I'm swimming in the delightful TRIBBLE.



    Also, does this mean I should avoid publishing any new missions, in the event I finish before this part of the Foundry comes back online?

    It's probably wise to wait on publishing until after downtime completely finishes. There's presently no way for a mission to exit review. Still, I did just release a mission, but it was the finale to a long-running series that I knew a few people around the net would want to play (so, no worries about it showing up or not in the "new" tab). For anything fresh I'd say hold onto it.

    I'm guessing not until sometime after Season 12 drops - it doesn't make much sense to turn it on now only to yank it back away if/when Foundry goes down for the new season.
