I have noticed it. Have you noticed it? Our launchers are not getting updated anymore, or are confusing, with things appearing then going away then coming back in the wrong order. Patch notes links missing from the launcher. Sales long past being advertised well beyond their effective date. And much more.

Who is responsible for things? Is this the work, or lack thereof, of the new community manager?

Well, at any rate, I find the details, the little things, to be of great importance. I don't want to see the great strides that were taken to make this community a great community eroded and eventually destroyed.

So whoever is responsible for these little details, please, step up your game. It is more important than you realize.

    Speaking of details: could I get a "for instance" on the utterly vague "with things appearing then going away then coming back in the wrong order?" What are these "things," and in what order should they appear?

    The launcher source code will be updated when, and if, the team decides that there's a need to update it. Maybe it already has all the required features. (No matter what the case, the community manager wouldn't be updating source code for the launcher.) Everything else is data and should come from the server. I've always been able to find patch notes on the forums, but I see that the link in the launcher seems to go to a forum page that hasn't been updated for a while.

    I think we're gonna need more details because I fail to see what it is about.
    We got blogs detailing promotions in time (except the XboxOne Winter promo being late due to MS dropping the ball again), the launcher is updated accordingly, the patch notes are there when they are (the last time, there was no patch, just a maintenance with nothing changed).

    you have me stumped with this one, I see nothing wrong with the launcher it seems to be working just as it always has but on a more worrying note, what on earth makes you think some miniscule problems with the launcher is going to have any effect on the community, sto is much bigger then the launcher and it would take a lot more for the sto community to be "eroded and eventually destroyed" then a few insignificant problems with the launcher.
    what is of much greater importance is what actually happens when you get "in the game" then anything that happens outside it, game bugs, crashes, lag, and such are of much more greater importance to then a flaky launcher to the community.
    about the only problem with the launcher that I can see effecting the community is if there was no game for it to launch.

    When I think about everything we've been through together,

    maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

     and if that journey takes a little longer,

    so we can do something we all believe in,

     I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

    None of this is new with the only exception of "things appearing then going away then coming back in the wrong order." I haven't seen that. The launcher has shown the same stuff for over a week now. Likely because there wasn't a patch and down time last thursday like normal.
    When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

    as all of the latest news items are featured on the launcher I would like to know what the OP would expect cryptic to display on the launcher?.

    Well, there was Tuesday's downtime, but there were no patch notes, so there was no link to the non-existent patch notes. I'd still appreciate more than the <24 hours notice we get for maintenance. Most times, it isn't an issue because it's almost always on Thursday, but the past two Tuesdays having "Scheduled Downtime" with an announcement made late Monday Night... Bad form.

    Well, you have to remember the last 2 weeks we had downtime on Tuesday were because of the winter holidays. If there are no patch notes, they probably don't think about putting a notice up until the last minute they remember about the maintenance period.

    Yes. I have. And I've come to think of it as STO beginning to fall into the Mandela Effect. Pretty soon, we're going to notice that much like the Berenstain Bears, Agents of Yesteryear will retroactively have its name temporally shifted to Agents of Yesterday. It's already happening if you ask me.

    As already mentioned, there have been no patches since December 15th, so there are no links to them in the launcher. The last 3 things are there, including the outdated Winter Sale, because there have been no news items since to take their place. The featured link in the left window pane is about the Winter Event, which is still relevant, and 4 of the 5 links in the sliding window are also still relevant, again with the Winter Sale being out of date.

    All that's happening with the launcher right now is a lack of anything new because of the year-end development break for paid vacation days. Most of them probably got today off, too, so we likely won't see anything new until tomorrow, at the earliest.

    It was only Tuesday last week. The previous week was Thursday as normal. arcgames.com/en/forums/startrekonline/#/discussion/1226477/pc-maintenance-12-22-16
    This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.

    Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
    Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
    The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
    The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
    The best lack all conviction, while the worst
    Are full of passionate intensity.

    So you all just willingly ignore these "things" then? Okie dokie, I guess. I mean, what does one do... Nothing, apparently.

    Well… how about yes?

    I mean if Cryptic’s staff messed up a few little things that nobody really notices over the holiday season I think I can forgive them. It’s not as if I wasn’t able to get the infos I wanted even though they were not thrown directly at me by the game launcher.

    Ignore that there are no patch notes in the launcher when there are no patch notes? Yes, sane people do that. Ignore that one of the 5 things in the rotation was out of date for a week? Not really, but I don't let it bother me, either, especially when it's clear there's nobody in the office most days due to the holiday. Ignore that no news items were added because no news items were posted? See the answers for the first two things above.

    I'm thinking I'd rather they focus on fixing some of the things broken *IN GAME* as opposed to worrying about something outside of game that most folks know has ended.../shrug
