getting disconnected when changing character?

Is the server going maintenance again ? because am loosing connection every time i change character and now seem like i cant get connection?

    I had same problem for quite a few days now. Now though its not even letting me login characters at all. No dev confirmation that they are aware of this problem or even in process of fixing it.

    This started for me this morning after I changed a few times. Had to restart from launcher. Now even restarting from launcher is not going in.

    I can log in to Champions no problem. But can't get to the list of characters in STO. And I see people in STO through the global channels.

    Yep, changing characters seems to "hangup" and I have to log out and back in (2 or 3 times) before I can finally get back in game. I figure it's just all the "Event" traffic - you know, players who only come back to game when Events are running... /shrug. It's only just started for me today, so I'm hoping whatever is causing it is temporary.. =)

    On that note, I had trouble too earlier this morning and I usually don't have such issues. Can't verify right now but suspect I was a victim too of whatever is going on.

    Been having this problem all week. If I can log in at all actually doing anything in game is effectively impossible due to extreme lag and SNR.

    Login timeouts for everyone!

    Well, everyone here anyway.

    Seeing as how it's not happening every time I switch characters, it's probably going to take the tech staff a while to track down exactly what the problem is.

    Login timeouts here too, always have to quit the game, reload from launcher directly, making it frustrating (horribly time consuming) to get things done on different characters. Hoping it gets resolved soon.

    Same, need to restart the launcher to switch characters since today or it times out. Can't even get back on like that as of a few minutes ago. Vet to the server farm please :)

    Got the same problem. I thought I'd use the Log Out route for faster access.. but now logging into my character list seems to take just as long.

    I had the same problem this morning. I hope this will get resolved if it hasn't already.

    I don't know if this is related, but my Intel outfit looks washed out and isn't visible in the tailor, or it makes my character invisible at least. It's odd to say the least.

    *Note: It seems to solve my problem. It's the Intel Uniform that delays the login to your character list.

    I was still having issues a couple of hours ago. I am guessing this isn't going away any time soon.

    This issue has been going on for me on and off since June. Switching Characters and I would get 'The Connection to the Login Server has timed out. Try Again at a later time.' That 'Try Again...' is new since Artifacts, I believe.

    Sometimes on initial login it would get that going to the Character Select Screen.

    Most of the times when it occurs, putting in the credentials one time will do it. Some times I may have to do it five or so times.

    At least since Artifacts it logs in right away. Before then, after a Patch it could take up to an hour to get to the Character Select, which would fail with the time out. Was rebuilding Shaders back then. No more now at least.

    I've been rubberbanding every 15-30 seconds all day, not really sure what to do about it
