T5 Lockbox ships and Ship Upgrade Tokens

Been looking around for a bit and I can't find any concrete answers so hopefully someone can clear the air.

I'm interested in getting some of the "consolation prize" lockbox ships, you know, like the Kazon Heavy Raider, the APU Cruiser and some others.

What I'd like to know is this, if I decide to upgrade them to T5-U, will the upgrade become (essentially) an account unlock to other Captains if I later decided to buy those upgraded ships, like it does with CStore ships? Or am I going to have to buy upgrades individually?

I figured with the sale this weekend, now might just be the time to give it a shot.

    That is a good question. I've never used a second one so I don't know, but I can check in a few hours and let you know.

    I just confirmed, if you upgrade one all others show "free upgrade" when you activate them on another character.

    Huh, interesting. I only ever get a lock box or lobi ship for one character for variety's sake but that's nice of Cryptic for those who do repeat their ships.

    Awesome! Thank you for the quick response, gavinruneblade. I was hoping that it would work that way.

    Now to go buy up some of those old T5's and some upgrade tokens. They may be considered 'booby prizes' by some, but I kind of like the looks of some of them. :)

    yeah, IIRC the original blogs about upgrades mentioned that all upgrades were account wide.

    The Tholian Mesh Weaver is very deadly at t5, upgrade it to T5-U it's one of the best t5-U escorts about.
