Why is it that consoles have only a fraction of the ships that pc has?

I have'nt gone through all but for instance.....a basic ship that i got for hitting lvl 40 on pc was the vo'quv carrier but on consoles that ship isnt even in c-store or an option for hitting lvl 40.

Consoles dont have half the ship choice and not just the tier 6 stuff either, why have some of the older ships been taken away?

Why dont we have more of a choice?

When we will get these ships?

And just for curious reasons when will consoles get stuff like the pilot ships and arbiter? I know the newest stuff will be awhile but the arbiter and pilots came out at beginning of year.

There are two reasons in my opinion.

#1 - Not enough time to do Q&A on all the ships because there are a lot of them.

#2 - Financial reasons to maximize profits. If All ships were made available, then the likelihood of T5 ships being sold would be drastically reduced by the T6 version. For example, the T5 Avenger Battlecruiser was and still is really popular C-Store ship. It is a great ship to file because it offers a good mix of mostly offensive capabilities and some defensive capabilities as well. However, it gets overshadowed by the T6 Arbiter Battlecruiser. Not only is it a better version of the T5 Avenger, it has the highly desirable Emergency Weapon Cycle trait which makes it a superior ship.

With that said, which ship would you likely purchase? The T5 Avenger for 2,500 Zen or the T6 for 3,000 Zen. To maximize the potential of the T5 Avenger would need to purchase a ship upgrade token for 500 Zen.

I see your point with the arbiter but why remove the older ones, like my example the vo'quv is a tier 5 ship,so how many other of the older ships did they remove, just doesnt make any sense to me.

Ok most of the tier 6 ships, fair enough they want people to buy the t5 stuff and the others too but that doesnt explain the other older ships that are not on console.

That to me means they are losing money by not having all the older ships already ingame.

Either way consoles need more of a choice with c-store ships, there really isnt many to pick from.

Like I said, there are a lot of testing involved before release. They likely did not have the necessary time to do so before launching the game in time for the 50th Anniversary.

Hopefully Cryptic will release more ships before Christmas... At least you will be given the opportunity to earn a free T6 ship during the Winter Event which starts on December 1st. Info about the ship should be released a day or two before it starts. Then there is the STO Anniversary Event which should start at the beginning of February.

Reason 3. I'm buying too many ships and they don't want any more money...

    Lol

    Free t6 ship?

And on a side note......is the avenger worth getting over the t6 yamato dreadnaught?

There are 3 major events during the year (Anniversary, Summer, Winter) that gives you an opportunity to grind for a free T6 ship designed specifically for the event. The Winter Event involves doing a daily race (20 hour cool down) called The Fastest Game On Ice. You run along an icy path (lots of slipping and sliding) against an NPC. When you win the and turn in the mission you get 40 vouchers. You will need 1,000 vouchers to claim the ship. If you lose the race you need to do it again. Once you get proficient running the race, it only takes about 3 minutes to complete. Do it 25 times to claim the ship.

Once one captain on your account has turned in all 1,000 vouchers to claim the ship, then all captains on your account (even ones you create in later on in the future) can claim the ship by going to the Reputation - Events tab, then in the Store, and finally under Account Reward Claim.

I assume Cryptic plans on having the Winter Event start at the same time for both consoles and PC, but I could be wrong. The only thing I know for certain is that for PC, the event starts on December 1st. It is in the game's calendar and it is officially called Q's Winter Wonderland.

The Vo'Quv was never a C-Store ship. It's a Dilithium ship and can also be had for free with the free ship token at Level 40, and I believe there is a Fleet version, too - which means you'll need a bunch of fleet ship modules and some Fleet Credits and a sufficiently advanced fleet to unlock it.

Unless you're telling me it's not available on consoles there, either. Then I don't know.

I think they are not just trying to "trick" people into buying Tier 5 ships. IT's also about maximizing the viability of the available ships. And they might deliberately hold back some classic favorites to ensure that the less favorite ships still get sold.

Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.

Yh thats what im saying......the vo'quv wasnt even an option for lvl 40 it wasnt there at all.

I have it on my pc klingon but for consoles it wasnt even in the list.

And again is it worth getting the t5 avenger and upgrading it to t5u or is the yamato t6 dreadnaught the better option? Also which one has the better perk?

Only ask because theres alot of love for the avenger.

Also do new ships unlock when you hit lvl 60? If not then can someone explain to me how ive seen 2 people now on xbox with the concorde class command battlecruiser? It is not in the c-store and i cant find it anyway in game to purchase or get at all,so how do these people have it?
